Hi All!!!
I have recently moved over from Logic to SX2 owing to those rather nasty people ( However, my problem is that I am now starting to miss some of the built-in Logic plugs. I am sure that there are equal or even better alternatives to all of them but I have not checked this out yet so I was wondering what you guys would suggest to replace the built-in plugs. Any info or opinions would be welcomed (abusive or otherwise Thanks guys and gals!!!

firstly, if you could say which specific plugins you miss the most and are desparate for a replacement for. there are alternatives to pretty much everything. fwiw i switched to mac and am in heaven but yes, we will be able to get you a decent list of plugs. just more info please.

I was in teh same boat, but have pretty much replaced all the ones that were important to me, and mostly in freeware too. Devon

Same story here. I can recommend the free Anwida reverb and the N-track reverb. They are some of the best reverb plugins there are. To use the N-track plug, you need to install N-track and after that it will be available as a directx plugin.
The Sonalksis eq is a good equalizer. The PSP delay plugins sound really nice, but the ohmboys is much cheaper. The ndcpanner is also nice.

Without knowing which plugins you miss specifically it's a little hard to answer this question. However, some very nice plugins that are only available for PCs are the Voxengo plugins. They're fairly inexpensive and sound great and use unobtrusive copy protection. Demos are available at http://www.voxengo.com. I'm pretty happy with SX2 also. Hope you like it.

Hey all...thanks for the info so far and the welcome! Tape Delay (a MUST for me...although I would always have liked an independent stereo version!) Spectral Gate EnVerb Modulation Delay Auto Filter Phaser ummm...I guess those would be the MAIN ones. And before anyone tells me that there are better plugs out there, I am not neccesarily JUST interested in having the best quality...I like some of the Logic plugs because they are NOT perfect but they DO have a nice character...whatever the hell that means!!! Again, many thanks and I am glad to be here...looks like its gonna be fun!!!

Hey, we like to argue to prove who has the bigger wingy dingy! What was EnVerb again? I usually just used Plat, and sometimes Gold. I use Classic REverb instead, or even better, Dreamverb on the UAD-1 card. Phaser? Classic series again. Tape delay? the best of the best seems to be the PSP 84 Lex delay. Suuuweet! Expensive though. I believe Kjaerhas is coming up with a tape delay, and someone else just brought out a tape delay too.... but don't remember. The rest of those I never used 'really' in Logic that I cared enough to try to replace them, so I can't really answer. Devon
