There's a pretty cool 3d graphics program where you model with virtual clay. You drag a ball of clay from a picker chart, glob it onto the main lump in the main composing window, then poke and stretch it with virtual fingers. It's quite fun, though I've never actually been able to do anything useful with it.
However, I wondered if this wouldn't make an interesting synth interface? Start with an initial glob, the sound changes as you poke and pull at it. Want some flanging? Pull a flanger ball from a picker menu, glop it on, then poke and pull on it until you get the sound you want. Want to limit it? Pound the top and/or bottom flat. Just an idea thrown out for open discussion.

I'd not heard of Sonasphere, but it sounds cool.

I've always thought it would be cool to be able to timestretch audio around elastically, in real time. A bit like the 'spatial distortion' filters in Photoshop, but with audio, and maintaining constant pitch. Maybe there's something out there that does this? Perhaps I ought to check out Ableton Live.

Seems similar to another thread some time ago about drugs. Squeez your ballz to change the sound Anyway, it sounds like such a GUI would be too complicated for me. I already battle to understand more than 1 OSR with ADSR controls.
