I'm looking for a good VSTi synth to make SFX like engine noise etc.
At this page i found the "MHC Space Synthesizer". Can it be properly used for that or do i need a different instrument? Please don't misunderstand me. I don't want space pads or "cosmic" noise but "real-world" sounds. Thanks in advance!

There are basic models of engines, but realistic sounds, your pretty much stuck with samples - game engines can do some extra-ordinary things nowadays (presumably you want the sound for this context), for example layering different aspects of the engine sound (ie. turbo) adds realism. As well as more accurate pitch mapping (instead of the conventional linear pitch shift).
Middleware can do lots of great stuff, this pic is the CRI Sound Factory: ![]() As for samples, why not try here: http://www.mtlc.net/main.php?a=scd&ShowCD=1402&Type=&Format= MTLC do all the pro SFX sample CD collections, so you can't really go wrong at all. Hope I've helped you!

It's called a portable dat and mikes to get real world sound. It's a skill that requires patience and time to do well.
