AuthorTopic: Automate the sample end point toward the start point...

Hello,

Is there anyway in any soft-sampler to automate the sample end point toward the start point while looping?

So say you would have a looping vocal that says "CUBASE" repeating...

then as it loops it would get shorter untill it was just the C repeating.

Ive heard this effect before... can Halion do this?

If not do you know a way to do it?

Thanks for your help!

This is possibly the only thing samplers like Kontakt can't do Very Happy as far as I know and I really like to do things like that to samples e.g. put a WaveTable sample in Kontakt and modulate velocity to sample start point... so, you can modulate the start point, or you can setup a small loop and move it around the wavetable [or "Cubase" in your case]... but what you can't do is modulate the end point. As far as I know. yep, it's frustrating when you want to do something that can't be done Very Happy . I don't know about the Halion though...and I really don't believe HighLife can do that Confused Peace, Beers and Cheers.

forgive me I'm not sure but I think fruity loops might be able to do that, check with its granular sampler cause all you need to do is automate it maybe, or its slicer sampler or maybe even its regular sampler. and it's cheap, check it out and sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Highlife can do that?! Surprised well, then I must take a look at your demo then Cool . Samplers who can tweak sample start, end, loop points are rare. Many can tweak start points but not all. Thanks for the tip Very Happy . Cheers.

I were searching this effect one year ago too
Because some hardcore and many hardstyle producers use it in their tracks hehe

Yes many use Natives Kontakt for it...

Slifty can do this:

Assign CCs to the loop points and automate!

You can do this with Kontakt. Just set a controller to modulate the loop length with a negative value. I've got a sample of Bill Clinton going right now and as I move the mod wheel up towards the top it gets shorter and shorter until it's just a buzz. Great fun.

Maybe Hal 3 will be able to do it.
