Another very simple one, yet might be useful.
Take look here:

http://s93683780.onlinehome.us/ccMapper.htm

Matches your (hardware) midi controller's cc setup to a VSTi's cc map....

Idea
It is depend how was the VSTi coded.
Many has "midi learn" function, you don't need
ccMapper for those.
Many has SET cc mapping (the B4 came to mind), thats where ccMapper comes handy.
Check the VSTi's midi implementation for cc mapping. Or, many has cc map image to display the same.
Exclamation
As of "turn the knob" to display cc response for THAT knob, hmmm. I don't think that exists, since the knob is in "midi receive mode" so it won't transmit the cc.

Helga will tell you the MIDI CC transmitted for the knob you just turned, so I've seen it before.

Question
Sorry, I didn't get this.
Sysex? You mean, F0 ........ F7?
My controller knobs (Oxigen 8 and Roland PC300) both
send midi CCs. I must have misunderstood you!

no what I mean is, as far as I know when you turn a vst/i knob it doesnt send cc's.

of coarse I know a control surface sends cc's etc.

hehe.

from what I could see, mr huge logo wants you to make a plugin that tells you what cc a certain knob on a synth is receiving.

... Midi CC received ... unless Helga is a midi controller as well Very Happy . I don't think so.
I wish, all VSTis would do that ...

I see.
So, feedback from the VSTi back to the controller to tell what cc is coming in? Well, the one which going out from the controller. Smile Do we like midi feedbacks? Very Happy

In the other hand,
I do not have Helga, but its either
1) displays incoming cc s from an external controller
or
2) displays controller setting for THAT SPECIFIC knob.

Which one is it? 1 or 2?

You're right. The way I read what you wrote above is still kinda weird. I'm just way too tired right now. Mornings should be banned.

I don't care, and some of the knobs on vsti send cc's.

For instance volume, cut off, resonance, pitch bend and modulation is often cc.

Only hardware synths/devices send Sys. Ex. VST/AU's etc. may or may not send controllers info (most don't) but they can likely receive it.
