AuthorTopic: AnaMark II presets?
grease
Posted: 3rd June 2004 20:59
I'm thinking about getting AnaMark II, and I'm playing around with the demo. It has so many options that I think it takes some time to become efficient with programming it. So I was hoping to check out some more presets, but find none at KvR or PatchArena. Anyone have some presets they'd like to share?

Also, anybody use this one? I don't know why it isn't more popular.

Ohhh...I didn't realize how many presets this thing has in it already! I'll check them out. Any comments on this synth, though?

has a huge amount of presets. Sounds really good. Doesn't place itself as far as I'm concerned at the top of the heap, but sounds better than alot of soft synths. I have no regrets purchasing it, & like you said, it has vast programming options if you really wanna mess with it.

A huge update and a new presets are on its way Wink

It's a joy tweaking this synth where the oscilator mix; the choice between a large library of waves for the oscillators and most of all the combiner-box allow for hours of tweaking fun.

My comments might have been a little lukewarm as I'm completely exhausted. I really do like this synth & have not yet given it the full attention it deserves. I can totaly recommend it with high praise.

Sleeper? Definately. And if there's a huge update I'm un-awares of, so much the better. Can't load his page to check out any new info at the moment though..lousy night on the internet.

Yes, this synth is a lot of fun and it begs to be tweaked. Shocked

You get a great deal for the price and it has a unique sound. Where else can you get those multi-point envelopes for that price? I highly recommend it.

I am happy to hear there is an update coming. Very Happy

Phil.

I noticed when this thread started that the AnaMark site was/has been down. I'm hoping it's a signal of a new release. I really do like this synth alot, & with all the intellegence placed in the first release, I see great things for v2. One of the very few synths that has the ability to use bezier tools for setting envelopes, that's smart work.

The new site is located here: http://www.mark-henning.de/ but the latest news posted there is from 3/15/04. No mention of a new update. Maybe I missed something.

The new AnaMark is still in beta test. Beta testing of micro tuning seems to be much more difficult than I thought of; beta testing should not be done _after_ release, but before Wink . An official announcement on the website follows as soon as I have an idea when it will be ready. Don't like the way "Announcement for month xy this year!" and then releasing 6 months later as some companies do.

There will also be a new skin. A designer from netherlands is currently working on it, and as far as I can see, it will look great. Very Happy

Confused - this thread made me try the demo once again -
I would have bought Anamark month ago but it seems
to be detuned within itself Confused - I mean actually
with most if not all of the presets it sounds totally detuned especially when I play both handed Confused
- I know that the demo is detuned to 440hz
- but is also e.g. c1 detuned to c2?
If so, (and I hope it is so) I think it is the weirdest
idea for a demo I ever came across - I mean it really makes the synth sound bad to my ears - what's it about?
Confused

jens, the detuning is the copy-protection. Goes away in the proper version.
Laughing

I love anamark. It's a proper dirty synth, extremely versatile, but has very much its own sound. Just wish I was a better programmer to get some more out of it.
Love to hear some mystahr sounds for it, or Tim, or any of the other splendid tweakers we have round these parts... Smile

utterly crappy idea for a demo though Razz

I bought it two weeks ago and used it in some tracks, i didnt found any tuning problems even if playing simultanously in stack with other synths; the demo "tuning" is nasty, though - probably a short noise would be the better alternative.

Its a great synth - weird, good but somewhat harsh sound, many good presets and enough complexity to play with but not too much and - in comparison two the other two somewhat similar monsters z3ta+ and rhino - rather easy to handle.
Really Deutsche Wertarbeit Laughing

Definetly recommended, Jens !

And yes, AnaMark has quite a distinct and unique sound. Very Happy

I tried the Anamark demo and was very impressed. I cant wait to hear about the improved filters ! Good work. This is a very good sounding synth !

There are still a few things I would like to see :
-Working monophonic mode with env retrigger.
-Improved GUI
-Added limiter or better overall balance of sound.

Thanks !

About the env retrigger: Nice suggestion. Maybe I'll implement this for the next release. Shouldn't be too much work.

About the GUI: There will be a new skin also.

A limiter is already included in AnaMark. Balancing the volumes of different presets is not an easy task, for random presets it's almost impossible. Some presets use the limiter for distortion effects and thus are at the upper limit of the volume range. Other presets must not be distorted and thus have a slightly lowered volume. You're the first one telling me that this is a problem.

Mark:

Great to hear that you will be adding more filters to Anamark. One is such a tease! Other than that, I think Anamark is perfect just as it is, although I can't wait to see what new surprises you have in store! Sure hope the new update doesn't loose the combiners and the combination panel. They are brilliant!

Well, what I mean is that the filter resonance can sometimes have very high/rough peaks.

I am not sure if its supposed to be like that or if this is aliasing or artifacts.

Its behaviour is different than what I am used to but sure sounds great !

Thanks
