Quite accidentally I found "Osiris" from Neko. It's free and it has a rough but even deep and warm sound. Leads, pads, basses, fx - all is possible! Attention! It is very loud!
Flanger, Chorus, delay and an arp on is on board, of course! Sometimes there are some crackles from wherever...I just played a little while around with it. Ahh, five small banks are to download additional.
I don't know what you'll all think about it, I liked it from the first look!

I like Osiris - very nice. Good deep sounds and some lovely gentle pads too. Very nice synth. Is this synth edit?

Seems like your monitor has some kind of vintage touch...Don't worry! Just a joke!
The download links are right below the pics. They are coloured very dark.

Hello there pepole Smile Nice to hear you like the synth. Will try to lower the sound on it in an update. Hope all of you can use the presetbanks. Some have had problems with thoose. Sad And yes, its a synthedit synth. Cool More comments?

not to step on anyone's toes, but shouldn't there be a SE sign?

nice looking synth

but..you NEED to credit Chris Kerry for using his modules, also please consider registering Synthedit.

$20 (that won't last forever) you could then at least use all your presets instead of multiple banks of 16.

W o W ! Very Happy

Those are some very slick designs. Cool

The layout and use of yellow and various shades
of blue works really well.

The design is also very good at displaying
the overall functionality and option selections.

It's rare for me to see a synth gui that is so
attractive that it makes me want to try it out.

Will give it a go tonight. Idea

Great work. Shocked

Outstanding...!!!

I've downloaded a ton of soft synths. Dumped most of them ( not bad, just not what I want ), kept a few that I thought were "cool", but Osiris is the first one that really made ne stop and listen and the first that I would actually consider paying for. Let me know if you decide to go shareware or donationware. I would gladly do my part to help support your efforts. The presets are awesome too. I really like the "delay pad". Love that sound.
Keep up the excellent work...
and thanks...

Posted: 14th June 2004 20:47
agreed, it's a nice one. Also liked Nerve, and there was a very simple but good one that I think was the first from you. Probably I still have them on my system somewhere.
Thanx for the synthesis, man!
Topaz is right, though, if you can afford it and have not already, send C. Kerry a little somethin' and if you don't have any money to spare ( I know what that is like, I just paid a tuition installment today!) a credit to him is a good thing to do! Smile I don't think he wanted money in the first place, but people talked him into accepting it instead of a credit.
Cheerz.

Updated the synth with comments and lowered the sound on the (onboard)presets.

As somebody asked, this synth is VST only, wich means windows only. Not planned any release for mac either, sorry. cant be done with synthedit.

Will see about that synthedit registration, since building synths i something I do for fun, not really doing it all the time. Have a bunch of other projects hanging around. But its in the plans, somewhere in the future...

Whatever happend to your old synths...you had a yellow one and a red one (called Varg if I´m not mistaken)

Should be a file in there alright. Use winrar to unzip them. http://www.grassheap.com/software.php?ID=370 here you can download it. Infact, you could find it on almost any pc magazine cd/dvds

The developement of them was put down. Warg was a thing that never had a good gui. Also lost alot of files in a HDD crash this winter. So, updates of them are almost impossible to do. If there is interst, I can put them up on my site too.

Got: Purge XT (red and silver version, if the silver hasnt disappeared)
Nerve: Both Rack and Normal version. Big yellow wone
Angel: No good skin for this... and does wierd sounds, not as knork though. Actually fits for music. Smile

Perhaps there are more, but dont think they are anything worth to post.

hi, neko.
I would be pretty happy if I could get a copy of nerve again. I didn't ever see the "rack" version, so that might be cool. Any chance you could up a link? Smile

Hey, great synth Neko! The first patch is well chosen, shows the power of this thing well. The gui is quite nice too, though the keys themselves could maybe use some shading/lighting as they stand out a bit from the rest.

Some questions:
1. Whats the filter routing scheme? Serial or parallel? And the 'dest' control controls where both oscs are routed or just osc1?
2. I'm guessing the 'dual' toggle detunes the oscs in stereo?
3. Whats the 'hit' knob for the filters?

Thanks Floyd, yeah, the first preset is well chosen.

1 The filter scheme is paralell. And the routing is from filter 1 only.

2 Dual adds 2 oscillators that are slightly detuned.

3 Hit a simple way to get more attack in the filter. Could also be done by having a low amount on the filter and a short attack.

Then I would like to do some advertising for my upcoming synth. Knork+ More info to come, but this is how it looks.
