I've just go my midi leads yeah,

But I can't get my midi controller to make sound come out on my a-station, the Midi out on the controller is plugged in to the Midi in on the a-station and the audio outs are connected to my mixer.

I can get sound out of the a-staiotn by pressing the audition button on the a-station but if I press a key on the keyboard nothing happens, I'm not sure if there something set wrong on the keyboard or the
a-station, my controller is the edirol pcr-30.

If anyone has any ideas that would be great, I've been trying for hours to get it to work and I've had no joy.

don't get you, if I do that the midi input on the controller will be connected to the midi input on the synth that won't work. Or maybe I miss understood you.

There's no point in connecting an input to an input, I know for a fact that that will never work, If you just think about it's just common sense.

If both units are taking signals in how are they going to communicate.

well yeah I think so, it recieves and transmits on midi channel 1 and my controller is set to midi channel 1, I only got the cables yesterday and I bought two and I've tried them both so I don't think its that.

Time for the obvious question-is the Edirol getting power?

OK-time for the next obvious question...can the Edirol send MIDI through the USB connection AND the MIDI port simultaneously? Some USB powered keyboards won't allow that.If you have an AC adapter, try that.Or,try routing MIDI out from your host using the USB connection and see if you can control the A-Station from that.
