AuthorTopic: Fairlight CMI Emulator

Hi,

I was thinking about this last night but wouldn't it be great if there was a Fairlight CMI Emulator for the PC and Mac. It would have the original same graphic display (green text and graphics)and editing would the same as the Fairlight, also with the option of a tablet and pen you could draw waveforms on the screen. I know that there is software for the PC and Mac which is miles better than the Fairlight but it would be an exciting and interesting touch of nostalgia for the person who hasn't got a big wallet.

Nostalgia is relative to the age of the person experiencing it. When *I* think back to those "good ole days", the Fairlight was definitely for the person who DID have a big wallet! Smile)
But yes, such a software at a now-affordable price would be interesting, as would the PPG Waveterm, and of course the Synclavier.
When you consider that the Fairlight and the Synclavier each cost as much as buying a house (no exaggeration!), it is nonetheless thanks to these monsters that we have the music software we all take for granted nowadays:-)
