AuthorTopic: a VST that's like Recycle

I've done quite a bit of searching around, and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a free or relatively cheap VST or VSTi that can take a wave file, slice it up and use it as a loop.

I currently own Reason, but I don't have the money right now to buy Recycle. So, I'm looking for an alternate answer until I can afford it.

Glaresoft/Bitshift PHATmatik Pro can do this.

But its rather expensive...149$ is not really a bargain.

Hi,

This is not a VST but there used to be a program called Xrazor that was a free slicy program. Don't know if it's out there anymore or if it would meet your basic needs.

phatmatik or intakt do it - and probably others

Unfortunately with this you can not create your own Rex files. Currently only Recycle can do that.

Unfortunately Intakt and Phatmatik are both on the epensive side. If I'm going to drop that kind of money, I'll be getting Recycle so I can use the Rex player in Reason.

Hrm..$50. That's not too bad, and it does what I'm looking for. I'll have to ponder that one, but I do welcome any other sugestions.

You should really look into ioplong slifty and splonki. They're free (donationware) and does some pretty interesting Recycle-ish things. If you're interested in simple stop-and-stutter effects I can recommend smex SupaTrigga.

Smartelectronix 4-ever! Smile

i just got an offer from FLStudio/Image Line for BeatCreator because I recently sprang for BeatSlicer. BeatCreator according to their website will do all that you want for $99 usd.
BeatSlicer is the lite version of BeatCreator and basically will slice, but not rearrange the slice order. I don't know if that would suit your needs, but it's cheaper.

i can pick BeatCreator up in the special offer for $50 usd till 8/15, but I'm trying to learn Sonar now and paying off the credit card for that and have to curtail spending completely for a few months.
