AuthorTopic: Creamware's sts-4000

Creamware is running a special where i can update my luna 2 to include effects package 1 and the sts-4000 sampler for 98 euro. As a long time NI battery user, I have come accustomed to having multi outs that allows me to send say bassdrum to channel 1-2 and then snare to say 3-4. Does the sts-4000 have multi outs? How many samples can you load into it? Will that be reduced because i have just a 3 dsp card?

Anyone used the effects in effects package 1. I have the effects extension package when they were selling any one package for 1/2 off tor regestered users. 98 Euro is about 120 US dollars.

The package also includes modular2, but i was wondering how quickly my dsp will be eatin up with patches in that? How's the sound quality.

I make "idm." though i hate that name. so modulating drums is a must.

I'm very pleased with all the effects with the Creamware. Dammit, I still want the Pattern Delay as a VST still! Mad Luna card though? Eesh. You're going to be scraping by, quite honestly. My friend has the Luna, and all's I heard was him bitch. He got a 6 DSP add-on, and he's very happy now.

The quality of the Modular2? Awesome! The filters sound better than most VSTi's I've heard. Everything just sounds 'smooooth'. Once you hear it, you'll understand. Smile

Wish I could tell you, but I never uses STS-4000. If you don't get an answer here, try heading over to planetz.com and there.

how much can you expect to pay for the extension cards?

They're not cheap, jrrshop.com has the 14 DSP booster for $1200. The CW site has pictures of a 6 DSP booster, but I've yet to see it for sale anywhere.

The STS manuals are included in the SCOPE manual - all the features are in there. From memory there's something like 6 or 8 indivdual outs, plus lots of filters. As the samples reside in your computer's RAM you are only limited in number and size of samples by your computer, not your CW card. The STS samplers are good but the GUI is universally deemed to be due an update, as are the import options.

The 6 dsp booster cards were the XTC cards, which they pulled. Too bad. Sad
