Virtual Stylophone's presets really show off the instrument's range and power. Impressive stuff!

Me too, on all counts! Nothing beats hearing the tunes all fresh on the day... My track will be fresh to me too because it was written and mastered on headphones (Bad idea, I know but I had no choice), so I'll be hearing it proper for the first time on the day.

It doesn't work, it just freezes on the first note i play.
| Meffy | Posted: 9th August 2004 13:30 | |||||
A shame. Got another host to try it in? If you love lush pads, fat screaming leads, ethereal synth strings, and basses that can rip cones into confetti... well, the Stylophone could be played alongside all the instruments that make those sounds! Meffy

I can't get the Stylophone to work either. There's gotta be a soundfont of that thing somewhere.
| meeks | Posted: 9th August 2004 23:17 | |||||
Sorry I started all this, thanks vurt and topaz for looking, the download doesn't work. But you can look at the presets which is just driving me insane, just look at those names Any other sources anyone can think of?
| meeks | Posted: 10th August 2004 00:36 | |||||
I give Been searching everywhere, found one other place in france but same thing occurs (even found a f@uckin warez site with it there I tried emailing but address is dead. If everything is a dead link can it be hosted here? Hey vurt, mabey its me. Do you actually use the pen in the GUI for anything? I can't even make the two switches move. Everything is frozen in the GUI.
| farlukar | Posted: 10th August 2004 02:22 | |||||
you need to copy stylophone.dat to c:\windows\ ...
| puffer | Posted: 10th August 2004 03:30 | |||||
That's hillarious. I gotta remember that one.
| TechnoWeeniePas | Posted: 10th August 2004 03:51 | |||||
And the "C:" part is important...I found that out when I was installing it...since I dual boot my "C" drive isnt my music partition. But it must be hardcoded in the VST or something cuz thats the only place it will look
| thoshu | Posted: 10th August 2004 04:02 | |||||
Ooh, don't tell me that this thing can actually make more sounds than some odd tones?? I thought - or to a certain degree still think - you're kidding and those preset-names are pure fun, as I remember I once had a working copy and couldn't get anything interesting out of it. But maybe that was me.
| TechnoWeeniePas | Posted: 10th August 2004 04:08 | |||||
Nope all joking aside all the presets are the same. I made a stupid little VSTi some time back with SE that was basicaly a soundfont of the Stylephone with an ADSR on the amp section...worked prity well. I used the samples from hollowsun but they are missing a note so I scrapped it
| Meffy | Posted: 10th August 2004 04:47 | |||||
Yup, it just goes beep beep. Meffy
| meeks | Posted: 10th August 2004 06:12 | |||||
Sorry just woke up, could you elaborate? Is it supose to have its own folder? I shoved the datafile in there but nothing still. Could just be me groggy. hmmmm....I wonder...what if I touch the GUI with a real pen...
| Meffy | Posted: 10th August 2004 06:50 | |||||
Don't do this unless you have a bottle of White-Out handy. Meffy
| TechnoWeeniePas | Posted: 10th August 2004 23:53 | |||||
Should just need to copy the stylophone.dat file to "c:\windows" and it should work fine...may need to reboot? Dunno...I use it fine with MiniHost...may want to see if it works there...could be your host software? |
