Hi,
I just want to share my bad support experience with the Superwave company. When purchasing their products (Superwave Pro, Trance Pro or Performer), you have to provide your computer id and they send to you a response key (up to now it is quite typical I know). But this key is time limited. Wich means that if, after a couple of month, you need to reinstall your computer and want to reinstall their products using the same Key they gave to you (same computer, same hardware), it does not work and you got a nice error message that said that the key is temporary only and that you have to ask Superwave to send you a new one. I even tried to set back the clock of my BIOS but that did not work neither. That really pissed me off. But that is the VST life these days... thanks to the hackers... I then send them an email requesting my key using their online form... no response. I send it again after 2 days... no response. Now, after one week, I have tried to phone them directly but no answer neither. I AM STUCK. I paid for a software and I can't use it. Glad that I did not have a show to perform ! So, my words are the following: 1. For Superwave: Fix your dawm authorization mechanism. That you don't answer your email because it is the summer I can live with it, but you should fix you auto reply email to tell your customers... 2. To all VST buyers: send a couple of emails to the developers before buying from them to see how much time they take to answer and ask them about their authorization mechanism so you don't get stuck if they are not around... I deleted their stuff off my computer and took the loss. I gave up on them.

What do you mean ATS ? You had the same problem as I did ? When was the last time you tried to contact them ?

This is business as usual for this company. I reformatted last week & I'm not gonna even bother with these unsupported, denormaling POS's..
All you can do is let others know as you just did. They put up another 'KvR discount' same as the ones they have put up here for the last 5 months..all they are doing is scamming for new buyers & onnce they get that money, they could care less. This is a broken product from shitty businessmen, ppl, don't fall for it.

I didn't have the same problem but I don't like the protection scheme they use and when I upgrade my computer I don't feel like being bothered with it. Also the performer I think it is called (well ill call it the big one) their top synth takes like 80 cpu with one instance on a 2.4 ghz processor or something incredible. Oh I didn't have too much of a problem getting the answer to a question though when i first got it, they were pretty helpful. The main thing that pisses me off is that they promised an update and never delivered.

Hi,
I am all excited !!! I've got a reply from Superwave yesterday night... a couple of hours after I've decided that I don't need there plugings anymore... I just want your opinion : I feel that Refx Vanguard and Rgc z3ta are replacing in a much better way the Trance Pro and the Performer. Do you think the same ? But I like the superwave detune in Trance Pro. Please your opinions. Thanks, Yannick

Both RGC & reFX blow the doors off customer support compared to Superwave..I'd do it just for that reason if nothing else.. There is no Superwave to either of those two synths, either. And if you're looking for that heavy detuned stuff, you could also check out Albino, Exciton, & Scorpion as well as just getting the whole 9 yards with Reaktor 4.. R4 would be my choice over any of them.

Thank you for your words... It is always a bit hard to get away from synths you got... I'll check out the reaktor "yard" to see what stuff I can find with superwaves. But honestly I tried comparing patches of Superwaves synth against the "CommercialTrance" Z3ta bank and it was very hard to make the difference. I prefered the warm sounding of Z3ta. That's why, and because of bad support, that I chossed Z3ta over Superwave synth. I don't want to learn to many synths... I'll got crazy soon... Cheers, Yannick |
