The username and password you use to log into the forums should work. If that doesn't do it, use their "mail me my password" link and you'll be good to go. (The email might take 15-30 minutes to arrive.)

Good luck!

Righty -- MMV2's installed and running.

Looks nice, but it's disappointing that the scrolling view is still the same size... it still can't use the full height of the display! :-S They missed the point altogether there, I think. Sure hope they make the synth window vertically resizeable in a future update; being able to see more at a time was the whole idea. No matter, that's the least important of the improvements IMO.

[edit] I missed the little [+] and [-] buttons on the toolbar. They make the window grow and shrink vertically. Odd way of doing it but it works, so please disregard the above rantlet.

New modules: WOW! They're all there. It all looks and sounds good... I'm getting very sluggish mouse response on knobs, though. There's a long delay before the tooltip pops up and the knob reacts. Anyone else seeing that?

[edit] I'm using a 1.7GHz P4 with a gig of RAM. Not the latest, but sinc eit doesn't choke on most MMV patches, I'd think it ought to be able to handle knob-twirling.

thanks Meffy.
But I have already tried that and it gave me a message saying
that arturia server can't find my email address
and I need to contact Arturia for that.

it is really strange, I have used same username and password
a few month ago and now it's not working.

Weird... database error, I guess. Sad Sorry to hear it. Hope you get through soon! Their forum isn't working for me either... big error after I try to post, then the message doesn't show up. Ah well.

Ah! Inverters! Not as separate modules, though. Each of the 16 VCAs now has a yellow Inv button, as well as a white Soft clip button and the old red Link button. The VCA strip grew a little to make space.

At last sawtooth waves can be turned into ramps... *sigh of relief*

Hm, the two master Env Gen / VCA modules at bottom right have grown a little too. Now each has a white Soft clip button and an output jack.

Wonder what other little gems are in there? Guess I'll find out tonight when there's time to crank it up and explore. Smile

Just downloaded the v2 update but have not installed it yet. I will shortly...provided the ST2 group buy package doesn't arrive first!

Sounds as if you too are suffering from an "embarrassment of riches." I'll be paralyzed for two weeks just browsing presets and samples. And I mustn't forget that shiny new Cameleon!

Ok - just fired up V2. Me like. A lot. CPU is way down, first and foremost. The interface "improvement" is...erm...well, I'm getting used to it. There's a lot to learn on V2 with the new modules, but a run through a lot of the presets was pleasing. Cool

Gnu32, do the knobs turn readily for you, or do they act "sticky," taking a couple seconds before they respond to mouse actions? I'm wondering whether the slow action I'm seeing is a problem with my setup or a more general thing.

Thanks,

Meffy

Finally I downloaded MMV2. NICE!!!

and have a question.
where is new manual for MMV2? any PDF file???

if not I'm goint to order CD & manual version for $12.
i guess it's paper manual and CD right?
Meffy

I don't see a PDF in the installation directory. Maybe that will be made available later.

I've been assuming the manual and CD package includes a paper manual, but really out to check... hmm, I don't see anything to tell. *shrug* Dunno. If it comes with a printed manual like version 1 did, I'll probably buy it. Good price.

Interesting... care to compare systems? I'm on a P4 1.7GHz, 1Gbyte RAM, Firewire 410.

Using the preset that demonstrates the Bode frequency shifter, I just tried twisting the big Frequency knob while playing a long note.

Once the knob started moving, I was able (using circular motion mode) to drag in big sweeping arcs to get fine pitch control while playing, without too much lag behind the mouse motion. Seems to me that it's the onset of mouse tracking that's sluggish, then things work. Does that agree with what you're observing?

Oh, one other thing -- I don't notice any sluggishness at all in playing notes. Press keys, tweet honk razz. Smile

Meffy

P.S.: Two other things. I've already emailed Arturia support about this issue, using the form on their website.

From the home page, click the "Upgrade your version" link in the MMV section, just under "Check out the new features." Some very nice goodies in there. Enjoy!

Meffy there is no link "upgrade your version" on the home page in the mmv section(in English). If I change the language to French it shows up?Nice one for that though mate.
Meffy
Posted: 25th August 2004 14:40
That's weird -- I'm looking at the same page. Where the French site has "Mettez a jour votre version" the English one shows (for me anyway) "Upgrade your version."

Hm... maybe it's a browser issue. I'm using Mozilla Firefox 0.9.2 at the moment. Anyway, long as you were able to get to it, good enough! Smile
