hehe, that's my first attempt at a "smooth" subject line. Embarassed anyway, i'm wondering, now that the "DaHornet" is freeware....shouldn't Pro-Sounds follow suit and unload their dahornet soundsets???
Are there any plans like this in the works?

Peace! Cool

And maybe artists that make music with Da Hornet should give that music away instead of selling their songs to the public or charging the company that hired them to produce music?

Oh, I misread! Sorry, no more beer for me. Embarassed

*edit* Speaking of crunk, there's TVT CD called "Crunk Classics". Just found it in this months issue of Blender. I'm scared now. Shocked

oh give me a fucking break....you're just like my goddamn mother...you take everything to an unnecassary extreme. I understand the complications of just giving away a once commercial product. I also understand that it might not sit well with the people who paid....but, I did pay for my copies of both DaHornet AND the pro-sounds dahornet collection and am simply stating that i think since dash is giving away dahornet that it would be a nice gesture and probably a smart marketing move to give away their dahornet collection. it makes sense... the presets are an additional work, and they dont have to be free just cause the plug is at ALL..
its a ridiculous statement really.

Yo, TOTC, you're overlooking something rather plain here:

This synth was just released as a free instrument. In order to use Pro Sounds' banks, you had to first purchase the synth, then buy the banks..

Because the synth is now free, you're talking about possible a couple hundred downloads for users that have now 'saved' a few bucks & would probably be glad to buy the banks.

It would be a really bad time for them to make them available free. The next 2 weeks will be a small feeding frenzy over it till the novelty wears off (of getting a commercial synth free, not the novelty of the synth itself).

Pro Sounds has a marketeting potential here that they couldn't have done better themsleves.

I wouldn't release em as free right away..money pays the bills man...

Johnny, you gotta copy the Serial to your clipboard at the Dash Signature site during download. I know it's a awkward, but what do you want for nothing? Wink

If you're interested in the daAlfa2k presets then now is the time as they're currently on 40% discount (only EUR 24.00 for the full 640 presets)Shocked

The daHornet soundsets are currently priced at only EUR 18.00 (for the full 640 presets) with the 40% discount during the Summer promotion, but this won't be for long Wink

Both the daAlfa2k and daHornet bundles include 5 x 128 preset banks categorised into basses, leads, pads, Sound FX and essential sounds.

tbh it was just a slightly ironic joke - with presets generally I prefer to roll my own.

I think the real miracle here is that anyone could coax 640 patches out of DaHornet. My hats off to the Pro Sounds programmer(s). Even though Liqih has decided to give his work away free doesn't mean those who programmed the Pro Sounds patches are obligated to do the same. I can only imagine the work that went in pulling 640 patches out of a synth like DaHornet. I also think discontinuing DaAlpha is a mistake. With it's ablility to load up to 3 sample .wavs, smooth filter and sweet overall sound it is one of the most overlooked synths out there. With the low price it had to be considered some of the best value for the money in the business. Confused

Yeah, we were pretty surprised too, it's a great synth. It's quite different from other synths out there, and you can get some really excellent sounds out of it, which was the main reason we originally chose to work with it Smile
