This is an unsolicited expression of amazement/appreciation to Camel Audio & it's users for the incredible preset collection available for this fantastic instrument. The screenshot below only lists the Factory banks & the Group Buy bonus banks (which are outstanding). That alone amounts to almost 1,100 patches Shocked

And there's probably about 8 more banks I don't have loaded that are available..The variety of sounds available are truly mind-boggling & really lay out this synth's potentials from bread & butter to off the hook insanity. Love

sickles,

is a montage, or have you managed to load the sounds as bank already, I think Ben will do an update to make it possible.

anyway, this shows really what the synth is good for: almost every thing,
but I prefer it for the incredible pads.

How the hell do you do what? I totally don't understand your question..

If you're refering to the file structure, this is what I did:

Download the extra banks you're intersted in, whatever..

Unzip the file.

Go into it & there's almost always one more subfolder, with the presets grouped into sub-folders within that one.

I cut the first sub-folder & paste it into the root of the Factory folder.

the 'X's are desgination of non-factory banks that I think McLilith changed at the camel site.

check this out:

That's the folder structure I'm using. I have access through the Cameleon GUI to every preset in the folder.

You have 2 built in file browsers in Cameleon:

The one to the left is the bank browser, the one to the right is for patches.

It's kinda like Aurturia's file browser a little. I actually like it alot, as I have a choice of micro & macro browsing right there from the instrument window.

As long as you adhere to a 2 folder deep structure from the instruments root, you can re-arrange these presets however you wanna.

edit: sorry about the cursor missing in the pic; it's hovering over the factory instruments folder.

my left & right was reversed Embarassed

see my last post above.

The browser menu to the left is for banks. What it's really reading is the FOLDER NAME of any folder in the FACTORY INSTRUMENT folder.

Inside these folders, you must place your presets if you want them to be scanned & recognized by the right side file browser. It doesn't scan deeper than one sub-folder below the factory instrument folder!!

One more shot:

As you can see, cameleon will display the folder name of whatever you place in the factory instrument folder. It reads them in alphabetical or numerical order, hence the abc's at the begining of the folder names.

Inside these folders is where you place your presets, which can then be accessed via the drop down menu to the right of the one I'm using here.

I really hope that explains it for you guys Mad

Yes, MorphMaker is the name. I'm glad you like it. I've been busy working on the next version. If you liked the first one, I think the sequel will definitely impress you. It's already much improved over the original, and has several new features. I just need to finalize a few features, and update the help and documentation. (I also find myself fighting off the urge to keep adding more features, else I'll never finish it. Besides, I have to save something new for the third version.) Wink

When it's ready, an announcement will be made on K-v-R's Camel Audio forum.

I've also been impressed with the official Cameleon preset collection. I wrote some of them myself, so I know the amount of effort that can go into creating a good bank of presets. Ben has people with very good personal taste creating those presets, and several different styles are being represented in the collection. That's one of the aspects of the collection that I appreciate most, its vast range of styles.

Hi,

Really glad to hear you're all enjoying your Cameleons Smile

Hope the confusion about how to place the banks in such a way as to have them listed neatly has been cleared up. Check the Cameleon FAQ at
http://www.camelaudio.com/support.php
if you're still not clear. If you have any suggestions on improving the FAQ, I'm all ears.

Glad also to hear that you're liking the new bonus banks - I must say I've been really impressed with what people have created, including Tim C and Biomechanoid, McLilith, Jim and everyone else, including those who entered the comp. Its also cool that I keep hearing stuff that I didn't previously realise Cameleon could do. I've put some time into making the banks expand and improve, and cover as many styles as possible, and I'm glad you guys are enjoying the results.

Sorry if I've been a bit quiet recently - I'm away in Canada (Victoria) at my bros wedding. All went well - I managed to remember the rings, and people laughed at my best man speech in the right places Smile

These are for all registered users. I haven't emailed everyone yet, because there's a little bit more to come Smile Head over to http://www.camelaudio.com/community.php

Then download the biomechaniks, TC Universe and patch arena winners banks. You'll need the password and username you used to download the last update. (If you purchased since v1.302, the details are contained in the same email as your serial number).

Thanks

Ben, I think the current preset selection method is spot-on, & I wouldn't change any aspect of it. Considering the amount of presets we're talking about here, having the macro & micro is a very elegant solution.

I haven't looked into the documentation or anything, but maybe the explanation didn't come across or something; I don't know, as it was obvious to me from the begining how easy it was to use. It reminds me of the patch system Arturia uses in the moog synths, but better.

The only thing I would change about that system is adding more presets to the atomic pile you have built up..
