"Live" drum machine development request:
1. Will load any .wav drum loop (not sample) and play it back once or in "loop mode". 2. Clicking on a "fill button" will instantaneously (very important!) generate varying or set (user decided) drum fills at any point in the time line from the loop itself, without having to previously set "fill points" in the loop. Duration of loop is decided by the length of time the "fill button" is held down. 3. Will have a "record" function similar to Xlutop's Chainer. 4. Do all the above efficiently and easily instituting a simple gui. * I have looked at everything out there and their appears to be nothing quite like this. Thank you for listening to/considering my request.

I think you've got to go for Sonicbytes Era or/and EST, maybe with EnergyXT as a host.
Works like a breeze. | |

To instantaneously algorithmicly generate a fill from a drum loop? If you are suggesting what I think you are, it impossible.

I think it is : programm 16 variations in one pattern in ERA, then put ERA in Energy XT.Then assign a controller to variation changes in ERA. Open an enveloppe comp in XT, set a sinusoid enveloppe of, say 20 steps, controlling the cc you choosed for variation changes in ERA. Then plug this enveloppe to ERA's midi in port. Random fills generating is done. (never the same fill, because your enveloppe is not the same length as your drum loop.
Does it help ? | |

Pukeweed, based on the fact that this doesn't exist, you may be right, although nothing is impossible (at least that's what they tell me).
jean-mi, I'll try your suggestion if I can figure out how to do it, LOL. However, if it works then that would suggest that my "Live" drum machine could be designed and built as one unit. In that case, one wouldn't have to go through the set-up procedures that you have outlined. However, thank you very much for the suggestion. I'll give it a try.

xoxos,
What you said in your last post concerning this subject was absolutely valid, and I truely do appreciate your suggestions and offer of access to modules. However, I'm just a dumb-ass part-time musician with neither the talent nor time to pursue designing this myself. Believe me, if I thought I was up to it, I would pursue the endeavor. At any rate, thank you very much for your suggestions. I apologize if I forgot to thank you last post. Keep up the great work! |
