| Author | Topic: A good sampler for (Mac) Pro Tools + Logic advice?? |

So I'm trying to come up with a "one-stop" solution to my sampler dilemna. If anyone could throw a little advice my way it would be much appreciated.
I don't really care about sampling--what I really want is just a sample player. But I want it to work with Pro Tools LE and Logic (I'm using a Mac, by the way). I mean I'd be using SampleTank or something like that but I'm not into that. I want to load in my own samples (weird ones, stuff off the internet and the like). Really, all I care about is being able to play SF2, and if I'm lucky, Giga files. Like I said, I just want a sample player, that's why I'm kinda overlooking Kontact, Halion, etc. I know that you can do VST-RTAS via Fxpansion's converter. Does anyone know if Logic's EXS24mkII can work with Pro Tools? Has anyone tried it? I feel like EXS24 is only AU, but maybe it's VST? I've never really looked into this... Any info would be awesome! Thanks, funkhaus

Get yourself a copy of EXSP24, that's the VST version of EXS24, which can load and play everything that EXS24 can; just for editing instruments you need EXS24 and Logic. I am not sure though, if there is a mkII version of EXSP24, or if they at least updated EXSP24 so that it can load EXS24mkII instruments.

yes there is an update, so it can load mkII instruments. another sampleplayer is kompakt, it has a lot of samples that seem to be very good(don't have it, i use kontakt).
