Everytime I load up a instruments and want to load some presets it defaults to the folder I last opened regardless if it was the same instrument or not.

does anyone know about any way around this? I just want them to remember where their respetive presets are located.

On XP currently, if this is a OS level thing.

I don't think there is. i do keep all my presets in a main "presets folder" under synth subtitles so at least i only have to go up one level to find the right synth..it's pretty easy

This could be because XP is defaulting to the last folder opened in your host rather than from within your instrument.

I use a handy utility called File-Ex which modifies the Windows open-save dialog box to the way it should be. I have a shortcut set to c:\programs files\vstplugins so i can quickly navigate to any subfolder within it. The main reason I use File-Ex is to get the dialog box to default to details view instead of just list. I've always hated that sideways scrolling.
