I was just browsing the news section and this looked a little boring first, but when I heard the demo mp3s and saw the videos on their site, it changed my mind. This seems to be a great concept and good sounding too... have not had the time to download the demo version, but it looks really quite promising:

I've tried the demo - it sounds very nice for something that's computer generated. I'm impressed with the strumming sounds. Also it's approach as a guitar VSTi is quite unique - it supports different playing techniques as well.

I had a listen to the demos on the website and personally don't think it sounds good at all, it's not even close to a "real" guitar in my opinion.
But I play guitar so I'm biased of course.

I have bought RealGuitar and I am really satisfied. I can't see why people say, that it doesn't sound like a real guitar. I can't hear a difference in sound. The only thing which makes it differ from a real guitar played is the technique you have to use to play it. You play it on keyboard! But I think it is possible to come close to real playing.

I never will give away this plugin. It is great! And really useful... And if you use some effects on it (like guitar rig or slayer 2) you'll get great results...

Well, if you can't tell the difference between realguitar and a real guitar...then I'm afraid I don't know what to say...

Of course there's a difference and Real Guitar probably doesn't cut it for making blues/acustic rock/jazz but if you just wanna add a bit of strumming on your busy pop track, I think you can fool just about everyone.

I have said that there MUST be a difference because playing on a guitar and playing on a keyboard are worlds of their own. And I will state that you can't simulate a keyboard with a guitar and so vice versa...

I own "the electric guitarist edition" from steinberg too, but I rarely use it. It is only for rhytms and don't allow many variations. RealGuitar is a single note player and in the same time a rhytmplayer too. You have much more freedom!

More than that:
- RealGuitar is the unique guitar performance tool allowing a keyboard player to closely emulate basic guitar techniques using standard MIDI keyboard,

- as a rhythmplayer RG can use MIDI rhythm patterns for realtime creating rhythm guitar part by simply playing chords on a MIDI keyboard. We've released the additional MIDI Pattern Library for RealGuitar including 1250 pro quality guitar patterns covering a wide range of music styles. Note, these patterns are easily editable right in a MIDI track, so you can quickly make your own variations of the existing patterns or create your own from scratch.
