just checking out a few of the vsti links on here. Noticed that it has lists of any copy protection on the software, 2 questons occur, 1) Why have a list like this? And 2) How come some software - DR-008 for instance - has no copy protection? Surely this leaves such software open to be shared illegally?

1) for some people the method of copy protection does matter a lot. For instance they won't connect the music PC to the internet out of principle, so anything with a challenge/response copy protection puts them off. Or a second installed reg after harddisk crash is more difficult with C/R. Some people get turned off majorly by dongles. Get it?

2) they trust yer blue eyes Love Or the value is rather low, so basicly not worth the protection.

The worst copy protection ever has got to be StarForce. Luckily though there doesn't seem to be any music companies using it.. yet..

Some people don't bother spending time, money and user nerves on copy protection because they know what copy protection is worth.

What, you mean like every other software on the planet once some 15yr old SoftICE whiz with too much time on his hands decides to crack it?

Basically, we work on the principle that most people that pay for software in the first place will have the sense not to "share" it. Anyway, I've got better things to do with my life than try and play catch-up with 15yr old SoftICE freaks Confused

just ordered Z3ta+ , would never have done if it
had used CR or likely, hopefully there will be an
albino group-offer also, compagny like NI deserves
the crack-death, I bought reaktor becourse it was
a dongle-program, then they jumped to CR suddenly,
money wasted, I donīt accept CR, especially not
when you bye something for being NON-CR and then
get discontinued shortly after
