Hi,

I haven't heard something about Klangformer for a long time. Are there any interesting news?

How long has it been since you checked the site for iJ media - a new .dll to replace the old one and a full 6 part download update is there.
The X-gen and Additive features are definately working now - speech synthesis is still a bit iffy.
That said it's in pretty good shape for a beta.
Possible one of my all time favourites.
If they enlarged the GUI slightly and finished it off I's pay $150 for it no problems.
Works a treat in Live 4.0 BTW.
Can be quite a stunning sounding synth.

I wish it was just a joke... he knows his stuff when it comes to coding, but human interactions are an alien concept to him Neutral

And seems that over time he hasn't picked up any hints whatsoever when it comes to dealing with others...

Still, Klangformer is impressive Razz

Do you have a page where I can listen?

>> Yes, I have a page with "demo tunes" but... this one is finished, but still not masterized. The song is a collaboration with another Dj for a new LP; if you are interested in listening to it, I speak with him about upload the track in these days and send you a link.

The style of the song is smooth jazz/lounge (and it has a bass solo... Very Happy )

¿...?

Excuse my "Google-Translator" english... Embarassed

Klanformer2 looks pretty impressive.

I must admit I have a little difficulty understanding the controls properly alot of the time.

Also - the CPU usage seems quite high on alot of the patches.

However, at the same time it looks like an impressive workhorse once you've understood it.

I like this guy. He codes some good stuff. Although I'm not so sure about the speech engine as it seems to use some database files that you can download but are not meant for commercial work. Not sure if that makes that part a bit limited.

It's a pretty good price too I reckon for the monster that it is. I would say Kubik would get my hundred dollars first though - but this is an intriguing synth to play with in the meantime.

Certain aspects of sound quality in digital synthesis are expensive in terms of processing- that's just an inescapable fact of life. That's not to say that a low-CPU usage synth can't sound good,
but for example that "burnished" sound takes sizable wavetables and high control rates. And as Da Vinci said, "movement is life"- and movement, an essential part of a vector synth (or realistic analog emulation, for that matter) takes horsepower.

I'm actually more impressed by little CPU some of these monster softsynths are taking to achieve the sound quality they have, and fully expect minimum requirements of 2-plus gig in the near future.

Anyway, Ninja had some main ingredient type of qualities and I can't wait to try Klangformer.
