Can anyone help?
I followed the online authorisation. Entered details, copied pasted etc On reloading Stylus I got the Authorization screen back again. Bah! I went to authorise online again. My name was recognised and I was asked for a valid reason for reauthorising a second time (eg laptop use, which isn't the case) This didn't apply so I quit the online system. I then downloaded RMX v105 update, and installed that. Still got the same problem. The spectrasonics online system thinks I've already authorised, while the actual plug will only allow me to use demo mode. I've now got 4 days use. I hate these bastard situations (sorry about ranting but I am pissed) Any clues anyone?

Go through the authorization process using 1.0.5. Don't worry, we'll make sure nobody loses an authorization count because of this.

For those waiting to install, should we grab 1.0.5 FIRST then install it, and then authorize?

Reauthorised from the email spectrasonics sent.
But now it doesn't find the data directory ... grrr. I guess this will all work itself out soon enough if I just keep plugging away. But don't you just hate complex startup systems I'd hoped my first RMX post would be "great joy" etc ... but no. Bastard startup issues.

glenn .. you see? it would be really good if rmx would let us point it to the folder where the content is .. in case there is this problem kevvvv has. (i had the same one, as well as some other dude over here) putte

You really gotta read the install instructions coming with spectrasonics stuff. When you do - it installs fine where you want it to install.. if you don't, it probably won't work.
Another vote here for a more self-explanatory installer which guides you through menus and explains the stuff from the readme.txt on-screen while the files are being copied (such as 'if you wanna move your files - make a new shortcut in this and that directory etc.etc.).

In my case, I read the instructions. I don't want to install the previous version if it 'might' not authorize. I would rather install 1.05 and then try the auth...

ya install 1.05 first. in my box there was a sticker i think.. don't remember, but somewhere I read 'install 1.05 first'. All I know is once I was done installing, I authed it and wen't ahead using it happily.

I had a few problems with it too... but worked them out.
Thank God the product is sweet because the install and other issues.... well there is no excuse for that.

I would highly recommend watching the WatchMe movie. It guides you through the whole process. But, we're taking notes on how it could be improved in the future.

Glenn....... you need to reverse that around. For someone that does not have enough space on C:\ that movie makes you think that you have to install to there first then make the shortcut. But you really dont need to do that.

glenn
I've sorted it now. But it didn't happen like the manual says. And for the period I had to solve it I felt mad. Do you ever get that way?

I didn't have any auth problems with RMX - just installed, authorized, downloaded updates. Only problem I had was that the directions for installation made it seem like it installed to C:\, not your Windows drive - which was different for me. Had to spend 30 mins on the phone with the Spectrasonics tech support on the subject - we were both pretty confused until I mentioned that the install folder wasn't being created on C:. Major props to the guy I was on the phone with for being such a good sport |
