Download Sampletank 2 Free from IKmultimedia.com, then download all of the free sounds -- especially the electric guitar. Then use the electric guitar and the ST2 effects (based on amplitube, some of the best anywhere. period.) Boom, you got something better than Slayer 2 (IMO) for free, and you don't need a crack to do it.
You're welcome. | ||||

I agree, damn fine deal that ST2Free, and the guitar and amp is sweet. Here's a sample of the guitar from that:
Download "Seachange" The guitar comes in at 0:45 100% made with ST2Free; I have the patch for that guitar amp I created floating around at home. I'll post it back here tomorrow.

Okay, I finally got that download to work. (I haven't a clue what was wrong the first 5 times I tried to download this--maybe your server was swamped?) Anyway, I like it. That vocal is my favorite part. I assume that's also from SampleTank2? take care, McLilith

I knew someone would point this out...in a smarta$$ manner. If you missed the other thread (its been locked) -- I was just trying to direct a crack hunter away from cracks. Maybe by trying real free stuff, he wouldn't be as likely to use cracks, and maybe then he would want to buy Sampletank (I think thats the idea with ST2 Free). Then again, he'll probably just want a crack of ST2...

Yes, that vocal comes with ST2Free, it's called "Soprano Ah" from memory. Glad you liked the choon; my server is in Australia, which could make downloads a pain sometimes.

I just DL:dSS2free... but where are the sounds? It says to put the intrument files in the instruments folder..but where do I find those files?
edit> Never mind, I cant be arsed to muck about with this. I shouldnt be trying out new stuff anyway. I got way to much as it is.
| anopenscroll | Posted: 11th November 2004 14:13 | |||
You have to download each of the nine or so instruments and unzip them into that folder from here: http://www.sampletank.com/Main.html?STFreeDwn (go down)

Will ST Free allow me to load my own samples into it?
| Kim (esoundz) | Posted: 11th November 2004 15:41 | |||
You can only load the free sounds provided by IK (or one of IK's friends). You can't save user presets (I think). Forever, Kim.

Nope. Forever, Kim. | ||||

I'm trying to figure out why some people are getting on a high horse because second skin made this suggestion.
is it really better not to do so? they did go thru the trouble of making a free version available and to me it just seems like more publicity for sampletank2 I believe it's called attracting potential customers
| Kim (esoundz) | Posted: 11th November 2004 15:58 | |||
Yes, that's exactly what it is. It's a promotion tool. Of course, ST2FREE and SS2FREE are completely usable instruments on their own (no timeouts or periodic noise or any garbage like that), so they're better than "just a demo". You can be clever and JUST use the free versions to make great music without ever buying the full versions. Forever, Kim.
