No, V-Station is a 'plugin'. Its an instrument that is fed data by another program called the 'host'. Most hosts are sequencers which can play .mid files. Common hosts include Cubase, Live etc. Look under the 'Hosts' section of KVR for further info.

vstation can play .mid files. to load them, go to the global page and hit the imprt button, load it, and wah-la. Most of the vstation banks you will find are.mid, it can also load kstation .mid patches.

Erm, I think we are talking on crossed purposes here.
If by 'mid' files you mean song data, V-Station cannot play song data. However, its can load V-Station presets stored in sysex format within a .mid file. I took the original question to mean song .mid files not patch/preset files?

good point flametop. I took it the exact opposite. I think he/she has their answer they were looking for between the 2 of us!

Isn't *any* VSTi plugin able to play MIDI song files anyhow? For such tasks the "sequencer" was invented. Or was it the VSTi, which was invented for the sequencer? Can the original hardware V-Station load MIDI files? Are there any useful MIDI files for the V-Station out there, which play "right" on this piece by simply loading them directly into it ? Questions over questions.... |
