AuthorTopic: a side order of LFO, please

I don't even know if this can be done, but...
Say I want to control my VSTi synth's oscilator fine tune (or something else, like delay time or noise amount) with an LFO, but my synth does not have that routing option.
Is there a simple LFO generator VST, that I can insert in my host, and then link it to control whatever parameter of the VSTi synth?
Can it be done at all, or does it work differently? (I'm sort of a newbie in synthesis Embarassed )

what about automation or are you dead set on a plugin doing the hardwork for you Wink

Yep I think automation is the way to go here – it's even better than an LFO in some ways, as you aren't stuck with a limited amount of waveforms.

it's my tool of choice when it comes to stuff like that and most of the time even prefer it to an LFO if it's available. More work, much more control! Love

And no, I don't know any VST that would do this Embarassed

Sure, but it would mean that I have to create an automation track first, draw / record the lfo and keep my sequencer running all the time (I'm such a lazy bastard, that I agree Cool ), when all I'm doing is just making a patch that I think might sound good with that. there's no song around that particular synth sound yet, so a plugin seemed like an easy idea.

And are you actually suggesting that I use my brain once in a while? That's so last year... Very Happy

This is why eXT is a god-send. Adding a MIDI LFO plug(e.g.. MoCon8LFO) to control any parameter of another VST is as easy as it can be...

yeah energy XT is the bomb for this kind of thing.

i created a plugin (CCLFOv2) for exactly this kind of task, designed to go into energyXT.

here's a link to download the CCLFO...

this post here explains how to get CC mapping working with a plugin in energyXT. simply cable the midi output of the CCLFOv2 plugin to the midi input of the plugin and you're set. (make sure the CCLFO is set to the same CC no. as you wish to modulate in the map!)

hope this helps
