Right now I'm just using it as a sampler. I've tinkered around with the slicer...eh....I'll stick with Recycle and Battery for that.

I've used it a few times. It's not bad at all, and but for a couple of things could be better than phatmatic pro. oh yeah, the big downer, no drag and drop of the midi/groove file onto the sequencer.
so I've kept on with phatmatic pro.

hey, at least dicer is from concretefx, so at least it's a 'living' project so to speak. I've not tried it since the early days; but y'know - jon listens to his customers (and he's working on an update)

I have it as part of Komplete 2 also.. haven't found much use for it. The built-in loops aren't that great, and the lack of drag-n-drop makes it much less efficient than the Fruity Slicer (which is also smaller and more CPU-efficient). Not to mention Intakt's effects cannot be automated. Terrible.

I've been using Intakt's engine in several East West and Zero G synths. It takes a bit of getting used to but for beats it is quite good as a synth engine. Being a Kontakt user the features available in Intakt are great if you've a ReCycle style user. It does a great job of transient detection and has a lot of loop shaping tools.

Look at Battery 2, btw, I think you're seeing some features that will make it into Intakt 2, like some of the very cool sample level effects.

If there's a library you like get the engine version and see, it's a $100 investment to get any of several Platinum series libraries. They'll give you a great idea of what can be done with Intakt. From there you can make a decision. Keep in mind the libraries are well worth the $100 USD so it's not a bad way of getting introduced!

Sorry, should have mentioned I have it. Embarassed Was pissed when I posted.

I got it in Komplete2 also but other than 1 trip hop beat I've used in a song all I've done is dick about with it?

I was curious if anyone had any great uses for it. I might sit and have a proper play with. I use Orion's sampler grooveslicer for chopping but should give this a spin as it has far more to offer really. (Orion doesn't have Drag n Drop capabilities yet so I don't miss that anyway.)

Bruce, can you buy the libraries without the engine? Thought you had to buy the whole application.

i didnt think it was that bad - load a slice, turn on select slice by midi note and tweak each slice as it plays, you can get some good effects that way. (then again, the new version of battery has this feature, so i guess its kinda redundant now)
