Well, the video was useless, it didn't really make v3 look any different from v2.

But looking at the features, all-in-one window and stereo-in really do make this sound appealing. I've always hated absynth for the second editor app running.

I've noticed a lot of marketing materials refer to resonators lately. Do the mean comb filters, or are resonators something else? Damn synth industry with their overhyped taxonomy. I'd like a phat circuit-modelled resynthesizer with extra crisp resonators to go please.

I just thought - so what!

Goddamn it! I'm trying NOT to get suckered in to buying the Komplete Care! Doh!
Didn't realize that Absynth 3 got rid of the Edit bullshit, fuck I hate what they did to the GUI though? It looks like a Japanese kids toy now.
Considering the price difference and that Reactor will probably be updated this coming year..... fuck! now I have to figure out how to come up with all that cash! Mad

i know i'm in the minority here , but i like the new gui ...

re: the trailer ...
frankly , i don't need to be sold ...
but i think the trailer could contain some more 'sonic' examples ... it's a tad
visually oriented ...

oh well ...
it is a movie ...

I couldn't even get the trailer to run..I had to manually drag the timeline to see the frames Mad

I'm with you, Normal. I dig the new GUI well enough. In the end I could really care less what it looks like considering just how great an instrument it is.

Steve, that ain't enough of a reason not to use this monster!

absynth , as an audio processor , is making me drool ...

I heard v2 for the first time last week ,the more it was put through some paces the better it sounded and the more people gathered,,theres no denying that this thing is deep and wide, the dynamics are mind blowing Very Happy
but it looks like a bear to program your own stuff,so you may get preset fatigue.
it also doesn't look like its controller friendly ,maybe someone could elaborate on that.
didn't look like it was splitable?
but panning the oscillators might be a treat Cool multi-outs would help that
I think when you hear it ,,you want to buy it,least I did Smile
but then it wears off......

Indeed. What is it? 3 live inputs (3 osc)? Mangelers dream come true. Hopefully you'll be able to granulate real time.

The envelopes look alittle easier to program too. Lookin' forward to it.

it seems that everybody thinks, that absynth is hard to program...
that's not exactly true, it needs some time, but it's actually quite simple once you've learned to use the envelopes Smile

and well, of course i ... WANT THAT UPDATE!!! Shocked HiHi

Never said it was hard to program. I just think they could be easier.

You can map all kinds of things to any controller you want in AB2, although its system of assigning controllers is a little weird.

Not at all sure who that trailer is intended for. At times I thought that perhaps it was for the next installment of MGS. Or something.

Really want ab3, though...

As has been said,it's not half as hard to program as it looks at first.
You can control almost any parameter in Absynth 2 and up-you make a control driven envelope for what you want to control. The start point of the envelope is 0 and the endpoint's 127.By doing it this way,you can make all sorts of different curves for modulation response.Plus, every envelope can function as an LFO,with rate and depth adjustable for each breakpoint.
You can't run two presets in a split, but you CAN copy the respective voice channels of the presets to a new preset and use key scaling to do a split like that.
And to all of you waiting for Absynth 3-it'll be out very soon and it'll be worth the wait Wink

Absynth as an effect is what I wanted ever since v2 came out

BTW, I like the new GUI, the background really looks like absinthe Razz

Err well... that movie trailer is just like, hm, nothing! I mean, really, what's that supposed to be for? No information, no sounds, no nothing. Quite weird.

Anyways, I wonder if envelopes can now be shuffled - defenitely one of my most wanted features on any hostsyncing multibreakpoint envelope synth.
Pretty much around 50% of my work involves some sort of shuffling in one or the other way, rendering any sort of syncing envelopes as we know them by now useless.

yep. i've always dreaded the day they'd dump the pre-NI interface. i was kinda hoping the smoke effect in the gui would be animated, it might be less confusing that way. but the vid doesn't show much.

i miss the old GUI already Wink
