Hello everyone,
I was wondering if you could suggest some cool effects, plug-ins, or methods to alter vocal tracks in FL Studio 4.1. I was listening to Nine Inch Nail's track "Starf*ckers" and I was really impressed with the choppiness of the vocal track.

Thanks

Smile

The easiest and most direct way would be to use FL's slicer tool and just repeat whatever slice you want in the piano roll.
You could also use the granulizer as well but you'll have to fool around with the parameters.
There are also loads of freebee fx plugs to achieve this effect; my favorite is the SmartElectronix Supatrigga.

I disagree, I thought it was one of the more boring tracks on Transmissions.

Saw Young Gods live about 10 or so years ago. They played with a bunch of alternative type rock bands and absolutely blew them all off-stage. I was standing near some members of The Hard-Ons and Celibate Rifles who stood around with their jaws around their ankles for most of the set, they just couldn't believe it.

lucky you, Bones!!

I've always thought the Young Gods are an undervalued (?) band. I know they are recording now a new album, and I'm quite eager cos I liked their latest album a lot.

So did i...

If you want that kinda effect, you need a lot of well thought out distortion, and lots of patience in Soundforge Wink

I agree. I was just remembering that HuG used the title first.

There was a second remix album that was good as well. I always thought that Starfuckers was dedicated to a Courtney Love. The songs not that bad but the chorus kills it.

Hell, the Rolling Stones had a song by that name long before that. But, on the album, they were forced to call it "Star Star", because it was an earlier age. That's not how the lyrics went, however.... Laughing

I was playing the first night of a five night gig with a band back in '78.Our agent's girlfriend was there, and asked us to play a Stones cover and dedicate it to her...so we did "Star Star" Wink

Not only did we lose the other four nights, but our agent dropped us Confused Laughing

Broken is a 6-track MCD. What used to be called a mini-album in the good old days. It doesn't count in any event.
Remixes don't count at all, making The Downward Spiral his second album.

Odd. To be frank, you're the only person I know with 'Broken' that is lacking 'Suck' and 'Physical'.

Maybe it's something you did to anger God? Shit! I remember him saying something about that somewhere... this one time. Shocked

There were actually three versions of Broken. The first had the bonus 3 inch cd, which I discovered months after I bought it when it fell out of the cardboard longbox. The second had the bonus tracks as 98 and 99, The third was the simplest with just tracks 1-8.

Funny you should mention the amps going to 11-the club owner's main reason for firing us(or so he said)was that we were way too loud Confused Laughing
