Okay, KVR gurus,
I am looking for an instrument that can do something very specific. I was messing around with SmartElectronics' SupaTrigga and it has a really cool slow-to-silence "freeze" effect. If you are unfamiliar with the effect, imagine a record slowing down very quickly. I know it's used in the following songs: The beginning of the Flaming Lips song "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1" midway through The Chemical Brothers' "Under the Influence" from Surrender I want to find an instrument that can allow me the control of when this event happens. With Supatrigga it is a random pattern based on user-determined probability...I want to be able to "freeze" it, if you will, at my command. I also am interested in finding good Phaser and Flange instruments that allow me that same control. Anyone?

Ziokiller, creator of Mr Ray and OrganizedTrio has one for free to download,
http://www.soundfonts.it/?a=cat&b=3 I think it's called scratchdown. Tapestop was perfect, but it is no longer available, well.. the dev. pulled it but the license allows for redistribution, so somebody around here packaged it up. The fx is here: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/826.html Good luck

what are you talking about? you can control it in supatrigga too sillypants what you do is this set the parameters as such: granularity to your taste (though higher than '1' - 8 seems good to me) rearrange prob to 0 slow prob to 0 reverse prob to 0 slow speed to your taste instant reverse off instant slow ON instant repeat off NOW what you do is just tweak instant repeat to ON and tada you're cooking with gas finally after its reversed, set instant repeat back to OFF and you're armed and ready to fire again

I should point out (as it doesnt seem clear to me) that you should only be tweaking the the instant repeat parameter back and forth from off to on to off to on.. etc
thats your trigger.. or err supatrigga so to speak..

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Vitamin D and ouroboros! I am very impressed with Supatrigga now that I see how it works. Scratchdown was a good recommendation too. Yes, Montana, Yoshimi is an unbelieveable sonic piece. They must have spent forever recording and mixing that album. So if you all are up for offering another suggestion, how about a cool Flanger/Phaser effect/instrument that allows the user to control the effect's depth, frequency, etc.?
