Hi Everybody,

me and my buddies Schroeng & Schrammel have recorded a new tune for our BoyBand project.... Cool this time we have a slightly different name: The four happy three guys neee boys, ey wer issen die Frau da (for Schrammels gilfried joined the group - she's the Fergie in our very own Black Eyed Pea Soup)

the Song is called Könnte man besser machen, ich zumindest

don't let the title fool you it's mostly in english....

okay have fun listening
cheers Wink

You have something here Mully, the melody is nice and fresh and most of all summery Very Happy

Do cut back on the vocal-FX and bring to life a more punchy and funky percussion and a good bass-drive.

Summer-hits are coming Wink

I listened with interest because your guitar based music is exceptional. Cool I think you haven't caught the vibe like you do with you guitar based music.

I would like to hear a few different mixes. It's not unusual to try out many mixes of this type of music before reaching a finished song. Perhaps make the beats funkier and more unique. What type of sound are you going for? It sounds more like an R Kelly type of vibe.

Which brings me to the vocals. I think the vocals need to be more pristine. There is a lot less leeway with this sort of music when it comes to the quality of vocals. Things like harmony are very important to get exactly right for this market.

The song needs a more traditional structure IMO. Otherwise it isn't going to work as a pop song that teenagers can sing along to.

A lot of the ingredients are there but they need to be spiced up and mixed better if you're going to sound like a modern pop/boy band.

I think on KVR there is this notion that pop and dance music are easy to make and that any one can do it. BUT...in reality it's very difficult to raise the simplicity of this type of music into something unique that sounds cool. It's a whole art form in itself and is just as complex as creating some rock opus. Keep on creating different mixes - experimenting with beats and structure, polish up the vocals and I think you'll get the right sound. Smile

hey munchkin... thanks for your constructivism.... I'll forward it to the producer (Schrammel)

and top thanks for saying that my guitar music is exceptional Embarassed

but, we are a first take band.... so we all just had one chance to do the vocals right and weren't allowed to practice before.... (and I guess we all failed) Laughing

kind regards
mully

I think with this type of music it's worthwhile to rehearse the vocals and do lots of takes more so than with other types of music.
