Greetings,
This is a request for music submissions for a non-commercial website. It is not an attempt to advertise. I hope this forum is appropriate. http://www.unlikelystories.org is a selective and regularly updated poetry and literary site that would like to start showcasing an experimental musician each month for our readers. This is easy, free publicity; we'll build a page for you, review you, and point people to where they can get more of your music. In return, the musicians we showcase must provide us with at least 10 minutes worth of their music that we can can keep available on our site for downloading for one year. (obviously, you retain all rights) The site is completely non-profit and advertisement-free, surviving only on donations. We do NOT want to sell your music or make money off it in any way; we just want to bring a few good artists to the attention of our readers. What sort of music are we looking for? Well, every descriptive word I can think of has been co-opted by marketers and watered down to meaninglessness. But a good rule of thumb is that you have something artistically meaningful that would never get played on commercial radio. I've heard a LOT of mp3s here on the kvr boards that I've liked; anything that blends genres in unique and creative ways will be seriously considered. This is a brand new feature for us The easiest way to be considered is if you already have something for download on the net; just send us a link. If you don't have a web page, but you have some mp3s, email them to us at music@unlikelystories.org (obviously, we won't share those mp3s with anyone else without your express permission) If you really, really want to send us a cd, send us a short description of your music, and we'll send you our address if we're interested. We'd rather have mp3s by email, because PO boxes cost money, and we're running on donations. In particular, we do not want your press packet. Please take a look at the complete submission guidelines at http://www.unlikelystories.org/guidelines2.html . Of course, you can also check out the site; this is a brand new feature for us, so there's no music there yet, but you read some of the poetry to get a better feel for the overall style. Be sure to mention us to anyone else who might be interested. Thanks, Nathan Penton http://www.unlikelystories.org | ||
