I thought it was about time I posted one of my songs here! This is something I've been working on over the last couple of weeks...

What do you people reckon? Any feedback will be welcome.

I was trying to achieve a kind of layered effect (hence the name) with this song. With some instruments being in the distance whilst others are near by. I'm particularly pleased with the simple acoustic guitar solo at the end.

There's a softness to this that in a way reminds me of the Hill Street Blues tune. The only thing that I felt off a bit were the snares and the hihat in the left, they felt a bit too hard/punchy here, not blending in with the rest. I loved that organ; sweet

Very Happy cheers for the comments, I'm glad you both liked it.

Cool I had the hill street blues kinda in mind, Was almost going to send the song down the funky road but decideed to mellow out in the end.

I know what you mean about the hi-hat and snare... really I wanted a brush sound instead... But until I go on another spending spree I'm stuck with the NS kit Sad

I love the sound of Fender Rhodes electric pianos. It's actually a soundfont from Hammersound.

if you look for dorus site he has a sample cd called superdrums 8000,its only 29 dollars or so,and is more than worth the price-but if even that is a little out of range for now,he offers a zip demo with a fair few hits in it too.plus many other free sample packages.

he recently posted his birthday in off topic so it should be on the first couple of pages Wink
