I added my Cubasis 4 VST folder (C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubasis VST 4\VSTplugins) mainly to be able to use Easy Guitar and some other plugins that came with Cubasis 4.
I recieved a bunch of error messages instead. Will they not work in Tracktion or can I do something to make them work?

pspvmdx.dll, pspvwdx.dll, psppsdx.dll, pspsadx.dll, pspscdx.dll, pspsedx.dll, Acoustic Easy Guitar.dll, Brother Gregory.dll, cs40.dll, Electric Easy Guitar.dll, JX16.dll, SurroundPanner.dll, VstDx.dll, DoubleDelay.dll, Chorus.dll, Flanger.dll, Mysterizer.dll, Phaser.dll, Phatsync.dll, Rotary.dll, BitCrusher.dll, MIDI Gate.dll, Reverb.dll, Vocoder.dll, Voice Attenuator.dll, VoiceDetective.dll

Most of the plug-ins that are listed are Cubase vst's, they will only work with Cubase. The first few ones are PSP direct-x plug-ins. Tracktion doesnt support dx plugs. But you can use the ffx-4 wrapper inside tracktion to load the dx's. PSP makes VST versions of all their plugs tho so you should get those if you can.

Thank you for answering.
I'm sorry to find that Easy Guitar doen't work.
It is a slimmed down version of Virtual Guitar and I see others having problems with that one.
Maybe if I try to re-install it...

Good luck getting it to work. Smile

Well I didn't succeed with reinstalling EG either so I will have to make the guitar in Cubasis and export wavs... or play my old 12-string instead.
This is really a letdown to me Tracktion-wise.
I was really hoping T would be able to replace Cubasis completely Sad

Sorry to hear that O-jay. Who makes easy guitar? I've never heard of it. Is it something that comes with Cubasis? If so it probably wouldnt work with any other host. There are a lot of good guitar plug-ins out there. Even the free sfz with free soundfonts sounds pretty good. You should try those. Tracktion will definitely make your life easier compared to Cubasis.

Oh yes, in soo many ways it is better than Cubasis Very Happy

Regardig EG it is a stripped down version of Steinberg Easy Guitar and EG EE so I thought it might work. Even if it is stripped down it is very useful. But somehow it seems locked to Cubasis or is it dx only?

But it really comes down to being lazy - I should really set up a mike and record a live guitar instead for a more alive-like sound.

Laughing I'm sure you can get better sound yourself than with a plug-in. Only people like myself who cant play guitar should use EG. But yeah it sounds like its probably locked to Cubasis.
