Hey Squids and all SS users,
I keep toying with th idea of getting Techno Grooves. (Well, when I get Sample Tank L with the cool eRom discount) However, I can't find a demo. Do any KVR people use Techno Grooves. It seems like a cool thing to have. If there are not any users out there maybe Squids can give to the Low-down. I know I've ask for info before...... hhhhhmmm, how many beats and of what lenth are they? | |

This kind of thing might be really interesting to see in Kontakt, that is, if the beat matching is of decent quality...

Techno Grooves is basically a simple loop library. Each one of the "patches" is basically a map of loops across the keyboard (40-60ish) and they are all the same tempo in that patch. They are different loops so it's not a construction kit kind of thing...although sometimes they sound good stacked and played together but for the most part they have kicks and snares in them (not raw elements of grooves) so they are not "meant" to be always stacked. However, they are all looped to that actual BPM pretty tight down to the sample which is nice.
It's not your typical thing from us (loops) but we thought we should offer it for your SS/ST set up if you are into loops. The price is actually pretty good considering that all the work is done for you (as opposed to having to sample off sample CD's) and it's looped, truncated, mapped just like it would be on a CD ROM sample library. The price being less than $80 however makes it less money than even a CD sample library let alone a CD ROM sample library. However, I will admit that this is a general "electronic beat box" type of loop library. It is not one of those things that is following the latest dance style trends or anything. I think you guys probably know that. I suppose you can make an analogy to something like a Dance or Techno card/board for a synth. It's not as cutting edge as say BT's sample libraries or whatever else is the "flavor of the month". But, once again, if electronic and lofi loops at these BPM's is something you are into for your ST then the price is right and you might as well get it! Anyway, here is what is on it. There are two folders- one is an effected set that runs loops through IK's effects for either lofi and phonograpgh effects or distortion and other goodies. The other folder has the raw loops (some are the same source as the other folder and then some are different). I don't know the number off-hand of how many loops are in it total. I'll get that figure together here...but at least you can see what's on it here: Techno Grooves expansionROM FX- Lofi Loops folder: 098 BPM_A-Lofi 098 BPM_B-Lofi 102 BPM_A-Lofi 102 BPM_B-Lofi 108 BPM_A-Lofi 108 BPM_B-Lofi 120 BPM_A-Lofi 120 BPM_B-Lofi 128bpm-Lofi 132 BPM_A-Lofi 132 BPM_B-Lofi 139 BPM_A-Lofi 139 BPM_B-Lofi 145 BPM_A-Lofi 145 BPM_B-Lofi 150 bpm-Lofi Techno Grooves - Dry folder: 098 bpm 102 bpm 108 bpm 120 bpm 128BPM 132 bpm 139 bpm 145 bpm 150 bpm [ 25 April 2002, 21:54: Message edited by: Squids ] |
