I saw them on the new sonicreality site which looks awesome by the way.. nice contrast to the esoundz site... any chance in the future if we can change the sampletank interface to look something like that?

That is a good question. Only in small quantities is the answer because it hasn't yet gone throught the distribution chain - IK Multimedia etc. They also build the sounds into installers which hasn't happened yet. Right now you can get it from esoundz if you don't want to wait any longer and must have it but the difference is that you have to drag the instruments into the folder yourself instead of using an installer. Not a big deal but... anyway, the point is that they are not widely available yet but you can get it. As far as Sampletank's future GUI is concerned, I am not supposed to speak. But, my usual answer to this is- it will only get better. I wish I could say more but it's not my place and I have to respect their privacy. However, we have no respect for our own privacy! So, although ST is not designed by us and therefore is not likely to look like the interface of our site... other things we make can! There is a GUI involved with Sonic Station and the GUI is being designed by Rob (our graphics/web guy) so... in some ways you will have this as a tool that will be aesthetically pleasing (if you find the site to be, which I do). There is so much more but even I have to keep some of my secrets. This is good though. I am not kidding. Some alien technology is involved in this one.

hehe
i liked the "about" SR section of the site. Why is Adam's picture not up there? he plays such a big role in the company... sheesh if he doesn't want to be up there then I will gladly take his spotlight... file me under "Sonic Synth enthusiast"

That's because Adam is never in the office at the same time as everyone else. He's a night owl. Some of us actually work 10-6 but I am the lucky one who works both shifts... hence my practical 24 hour availability on the forum at times. I just keep the forum on and take a break from programming now and then. To discuss stuffed mushrooms or whatever. But, the pictures was Rob's idea. He just took the digital camera and snapped a few. There's actually other people that aren't even listed that need to be included as well. But, Adam should have a picture. We'll pull out an old one. However, he and Gene are pictured on sampletank.com (or were) in the Sonic Reality bio page wherever that is. I don't particularly get any special thrill out of having my picture on any of this stuff but... at least you get to see what Squids looks like. You don't often get to see the sound developers.

Sounds like a good field trip. So, I'll ask Rob if we can go visit the nude beach down in Miami and inteview topless women on what they think of samples and post up some pics. That will give you a feel for the environment in which a lot of these sounds are programmed. Actually, we don't bring girls around to the office to impress them with all the gear as much as the single ones here would like to. "Wow, are all these your guitars? Look at this tub!". I am sure if you were here Mr. Tunes you'd be taking full advantage of the studio producer vibe.

Oh! Oh! A web cam of the beach. That's what the site needs. Robert |
