Soon! Please be patient.
I'm not going to release updates until they are (reasonably) stable. The "envelope" update may look like "worthless", but it changes a lot in the DKS sound and adds some new sounds possibilities...
It won't take too long.
Thanks for your patience.
AKJ - Tue Aug 07, 2007 2:53 am
bump, it was may when you told: not too long.

There is a good number of new features in the update, far more than I could ever imagine when I said that. Sorry

----Hey now, if the plug-in is running stable and it's not emergency bug fixes then let the man breathe, quality takes time yo.

DKS Pro ? I think it should be called DKS Godot
Shy - Wed Aug 22, 2007 6:52 am
I'm sure the update will be fantastic. I hope it will be out soon

. I don't mind waiting for quality stuff much. Since it's not bug fix related, I don't think there's anything to complain about. I got the synth and it works, and the quality improvement update is pretty much a bonus that you don't get from every product.
And I'm sure Aldo is not "slacking" or whatever. I know how complicated development matters can get. Let's just say,
far more complicated than most people realize, which is why they allow themselves to be so upset sometimes

. Often, developers find themselves in a huge mess and as always, people are disappointed, complaints, etc, but when it's out you mostly just hear good comments.
Aldo - Sat Aug 25, 2007 8:18 am
Thanks for understanding, but I would like to let you know that now there is a long term plan for DKS PRO, which includes some degree of innovation too.
I won't hide my intention to bring this product a step above the competition. I cannot disclose any of the details at the moment, but I'm sure that our customers will be satisfied.
Not slacking, be patient. I'm happy anyway to see that there is interest in DKS PRO.
Thanks guys.

the bump of the month
DrGonzo - Thu Oct 04, 2007 11:23 pm
Yes. I am also looking forward hugely for the next release.
Aldo - Sun Oct 14, 2007 5:44 pm
LOL, thanks for bumping and for keeping alive the interest... more than an update it's a total re-design of the instrument. Big surprise!!!
bodan - Sun Oct 14, 2007 11:45 pm
when?????
DrGonzo - Sun Oct 14, 2007 11:51 pm
Aldo - when is a good question, but at this point, I'd rather be intrigued by what the redesign will mean. Can you drop any clues?
Cabinfever - Wed Oct 17, 2007 3:13 am
Come on, give us some little scrap of info. Us fans deserve some information after such a loooooong wait.
Mekanik Zain - Fri Oct 26, 2007 8:21 am
Good new ! I hope an integrated step sequencer coming out with this new version of DKS Pro ....
DrGonzo - Fri Oct 26, 2007 9:02 am

Too much silence!!!
Cabinfever - Fri Nov 09, 2007 5:10 am
Yes, very disappointing.
DrGonzo - Fri Nov 09, 2007 8:47 am
Disappointing? Hm. Maybe a little - but although I also feel that the silence is too compact, I also have a feeling that there is a huge update in the works.

I hope it's just silence before the storm and that Aldo is OK

(very long since he's posted here, starting to worry me..)
DrGonzo - Mon Nov 12, 2007 8:30 am
Probably the first. As the old James Bond song goes... VST Programmers Lives Forever!

And another bump of the month!!!
edit: I hope that you are rebuilding the GUI because I have problems with the volume sliders in eXT2.x.x beta
Cabinfever - Wed Dec 05, 2007 10:35 pm
Yeah the GUI always bothered me, but the sound was too good to let that stop me. Hope Aldo can pop in some time again this year....
tekalo - Mon Dec 10, 2007 1:08 pm
One more time...It's Christmas soon, it could be a good gift!!!!
AKJ - Mon Dec 10, 2007 2:23 pm
it will come when nobody is expecting it any more...
DrGonzo - Mon Dec 10, 2007 3:37 pm
I'm not expecting anything, anymore.
Shy - Tue Dec 11, 2007 3:14 am
I am expecting, eagerly. I enjoy DKS and imagine what great new sound the update might bring.

How about a "Guess the Date when Aldo will Return" game ?
My guess: Feb 23, 2008

i hope everything is ok and he's still around.
bodan - Thu Jan 03, 2008 7:53 am
what makes me feel strange is the fact that aldo's promise about the update becomes larger and larger, but aldo's appearance in this forum decreases...
all the best

I hope the toolbox gets updated!!!
I'm looking forward to that 5 band splitter.
I sent him an email a little more than a week ago and didn't get a response back yet.

:/
Aldo - Fri Jan 04, 2008 6:52 am
You didn't get a response because we didn't have any
We were about to release it and trying to build a little list of which plug-ins can be used safely with the crossover (because of phase issues).
The 5-ways crossover can be downloaded from the AraldFX web site
http://www.araldfx.com/downloads.php
Please be patient, we are working on both the site and the product's documentation.
Wish you all the best year ever!

Thanks Aldo!
I hope my response above didn't come across harsh, I wasn't upset or anything.a
I can test some of the UAD compressors if you want. If so, I'll just need to know how you are performing the test.
Thanks and Happy New Year.

so then the dks pro update is incoming still? that's great. and great to hear from you.
Cabinfever - Fri Jan 04, 2008 10:39 pm
Based on the evidence, I don't believe DKS Pro will ever get an update. Pity, I was really looking forward to a grymmjack GUI makeover.
Shy - Sat Jan 05, 2008 2:58 am
What evidence? You sure have little faith.
grymmjack - Sat Jan 05, 2008 4:19 am
cabinfever; as it stands now i could do a skin. just gotta finish other stuff first though

currently that means completing some secret ones and finishing orion

not a small feat (orion). have patience. eventually dks pro skin coming i hope

The evidence of basic disinterest shown by Aldo. That he doesn't answer simple questions on this even after disppearing for months. To show show little interest or effort to reply to his most enthused customers.
I'm not upset or angry though. I bought the product and it's very good. I think it's the best drum synth available. Just a bit disappointed in what-might-have-been I guess.

I saw your Orion skin so far. It almost tempted me to start using Orion again and update the version ! Beautiful, and certainly should be the default.
A DKS skin would be wonderful. I find the bottom cells are pretty good layout/ergonomics-wise, but everything above that on the right (lfo, effects etc) a total confusing mess. The left side is OK, but pretty average.
There's something about left-right sliders too that just doesn't feel right to me. Either knobs or vertical sliders only. Matbe I'm too old-school ?
A good GUI could really 'set the mood' for this beast and get the creativity going
grymmjack - Sat Jan 05, 2008 9:19 am
cabinfever; thanks (orion)! it's a WIP but it's coming slowly. it's not complete enough to be any default for anyone
also, tbh, the existing default UI of dks pro and orion are both solid works. my main attempt to skin it will focus on ease of use and layout more than anything else i think. of course it will probably be dark

i love dark UIs. on that note i've been using the earth skin for my dks and quite happy with it. the warm earthtones compliment anything also warm, even dark warm UIs
if you were an old orion user, you owe it to yourself to try the latest beta. it's pretty rock steady.

I had a dream that DKS has new features and makes new awesome sounds

. Seriously, I actually had such a dream..
Cabinfever - Tue Feb 19, 2008 4:37 am
ho ho, I know what you mean ! I once was so sure that one the Creamware Scope developers was going to release his work as VSTi that I emailed him asking about it. But I did say I wasn't 100% sure whether I'd read it somewhere or just dreamt it. Alas, just a dream !
tekalo - Tue Feb 19, 2008 9:08 am
where is da great update???
