The form is available.
__F__ - Wed Sep 30, 2009 1:02 pm
I've just attempted to create an entry, at first looks OK - but the form keeps saying "No files uploaded for this entry" after me having managed the best to upload my zip file..

What am I doing wrong?
NEK-X - Wed Sep 30, 2009 6:21 pm

Yikes, I screwed something up. Could you try again now?
__F__ - Thu Oct 01, 2009 9:10 am
Just tried again, same effect ("No files uploaded for this entry"). And, the "Friendly name" field is blank back when I re-open the form (my description etc being still there).

I'll be AFK since this weekend till the end of Oct (worst case) - so I have to submit my vsti ASAP..
__F__ - Thu Oct 01, 2009 9:30 am
Oh well.. I just tried to do that in another browser (FFox - instead of Opera) = and all worked, the file appears to be there.

The archive includes my vsti dll plus manual in html format, hopefully it's enough for a valid entry (?)

Thanks..
NEK-X - Thu Oct 01, 2009 3:39 pm
Hi Smile

and Ooopsss... it works Very Happy
Many Thanks Mr. Ben Hug

Kind regards ... and Good Luck to all Develers Thumbs Up!

A quick submission Q :

for the purposes of DC09, is a 32 bit windows dll considered as being made for linux ?? I know its not a linux native vst plugin, but I hear of much success with wine in running windows vsts under linux - does that make my plugin cross-platform, or is the definition more rigid, as in native to the o/s ??

Question regarding the entry form. Will this form stay online so we can update the plugins when new changes are done to it?
sonicase - Sat Oct 03, 2009 1:53 am
ah nice, i needed some extra time

Which also raises the question of should entrants be allowed to update after the 28th October? Bug fixes only? New presets/samples? New features? Not at all? The rules are a little vague in this area, but I'd be inclined to only allow bug fixes.

maybe not.
i guess it was a lot of hassle to arrange.
shame, though,i was telling my boy to finish his plugin cos there may be prizes for everyone.
if there's only cash for the top 3 or 4,then i guess only the 'pro's' will win.

I wouldn't consider that at all.
daz.diamond wrote:

IMO, no it doesn't. Wine is providing the platform for your plugin, which is still single-platform. Claiming cross-platform portability via emulators[*] makes a mockery of cross-platform support.

[*] Yes, I know Wine claims to not be an emulator, I don't know what it claims to be though, so emulator is a good enough term for here.

Ben [KVR] - Tue Oct 27, 2009 10:07 am
Please could everyone (who hasn't already done so) upload at least one full size screen-shot of their entry!
Ben [KVR] - Tue Oct 27, 2009 10:09 am
Oh, and one or two entries have no description!
jobromedia - Tue Oct 27, 2009 10:46 am
I've tried to add a description, but as I said in this topic whenever I save the description it doesn't show up in the field when I return to upgrade my plugin with more files. Fix that, and I'm sure that more will add descriptions. If this remains is it ok to upload a description as a text file?

There are still five missing descriptions and two that have descriptions but no files. There are four that have no description or files.

I won't shut of the new entry form on the dot of 5 PM as I'm off out around then so late-ish entries will be accepted until much later tonight.

During the voting period the form will stay live and active for any entries already submitted so you can refine descriptions, upload new files (incl. images and audio demos) as you wish.

Of course any plug-in / application files uploaded should be for bug fixes only once voting has begun.
jobromedia - Wed Oct 28, 2009 2:26 am
I hope my entry is ok.
bootsie - Wed Oct 28, 2009 4:45 am
Ben, so from tomorrow on its possible to promote/advertise as well as offering separate downloads of our plug-ins in the usual way in the blogs and forums, is that right? Or are there any restrictions on that?
duncanparsons - Wed Oct 28, 2009 5:22 am
Phew, I'm in..

Ben, have had a small issue with the description plugin using Chrome. If I made an update which included a web link or bullet-list, it failed to update; however FF2 was OK. IE7 (x86) worked, but I saw raw HTML rather than the natty plugin, but that's probably some setting my side Wink

bootsie, I'd have thought linking back to the DC page would be the gentlemanly thing to do to some promotion of the event. Even now I generally link to DC06 or DC07 when referring to my entries Shrug Smile

I wanted to especially tip my hat to you sir, after seeing what the delay was probably about for entries with the upload form, I must say you've devised a brilliant system for this year in allowing entries, demos, and pictures into organized sections, and allowing each developer to control their own products too. Kudos. Wink
