Number 1: How is it determined if a strum is an up stroke, or a down stroke. Can I make them all up strokes?
Number 2: (ok, so it's number 3): in selecting how many strings are played, is it for example, 'limit (to) 2 strings' or is it 'limit (all but) 2 strings'? This thing is a great piece of work!

I'm guessing you're talking about the rhythm guitar component? The direction of the strokes is determined automatically--however, in the update, which replaces the arpeggiator engine with a new strum palette system, you'll be able to select the direction.

With the limiting, you limit the stroke to a certain range of strings. So from E to the high E, it would strum all 6 strings. At G to high E, it would limit it to the top 3 strings. I'm clarifying this in the string limitation settings in the update, as well as adding "lowest string fretted" and "highest string fretted" values.

Hi, Greg. Yes, I was talking about the rhythm guitar, sorry I didn't make that clear. Is the automatically selected strum direction determined by where the strum is in the pattern, or does it use some other criteria? Thanks very much for the explanation of the limiting. The update sounds like it is going to be great. Thank you very much for your time! Milt.

Exactly--it's based on where the strum is in the pattern, and of course the strum division has a part in that. Basically all the upbeats are played as upstrokes, and all the downbeats are played as downstrokes. It's a bit of a simplification, but for conventional strumming patterns this is consistent. Of course, with the upcoming strum palette feature, that will change things. Wink
