http://www.producerloops.com/Download-Perimeter-Sound-Arts-Zebrasonix.html

This one has been in-the-works for waayy too long now, just ask the guys who made the demos for it back in August or whenever it was ha-ha. So much ground is covered with this set, all I can say is definitely check out the freebee pack to try before you buy, and check the mp3 demos as well. A massive collection of sounds with full performance controls, sorted by type, ie = Bass, Pad, Synth, etc.

Some of these patches were used to make the loops/samples heard in my 3 volume 'Ambient Glitch' series, and even a handful were used in the making of the 'World Tek' material (both of which were picked up and released by Producer Loops). And my next loop/sample release features this soundset all throughout it, but that one is still -top secret- for the time being.

Thanks to Michael Cavallo, Bill Davies, and Torben Hansen for their great musical work showing off the presets, and double thanks to Mr. Cavallo since he let me hire him for way too long to do the X/Y assignments and a lot of the modwheel ones as well. And special mention thanks to Ugo for making my idea of a fingerprint as a zebraskin actually look halfway decent as an advert. You all made me sound & look better than I woulda by myself. And honorable mention to Mr. Urs as well, for making what has to be about the best software synthesizer made yet eh. Smile

Thanks, the credit for those mp3 demos goes to the guys listed - Michael Cavallo, Bill Davies, and Torben Hansen. They made Zebrasonix sound like music, instead of just a bunch of crazy patches ha-ha. Smile

Great, thanks. Smile I just got some press releases out to the big music sites, I'd have *probably* remembered there's a special Zebra presets listing on the forum here at some point, but you beat me to it. HiHi

Congratulations!
Lots of variety there with the variations, and arps.
Good luck.

Thanks Michael, and thanks again for your help. It took us forever, but it's finally out, and I did force myself to go back and learn to do some halfway decent modwheel programming (on the 2-4 variations of the main presets) because of what you did with it (once I finally got FL Studio to recognize my midi controller modwheel ha-ha). Smile I included step-by-step instructions with screenshot .jpgs for that btw, so in case anyone else with FL is tearing their hair out wanting to get the dang modwheel going with the presets. The good news = you only have to set it once after opening FL up, and it works on every patch (every patch that has modwheel settings, and in the case of Zebrasonix I believe we did something for every single one of them) until you close FL.

Any word on your next Zebra preset collection btw ? If you learned 1/2 as much from me as I did from you, then between that and your first set, look out, I may havta lower the price on Zebrasonix soon ha-ha. HiHi

And as a quick reminder to everyone, the freebee bank is 100% free, NO restrictions on commercial use in your tracks (see the included Eula .txt file which also says that, and is the same as for the full set). It's a free gift to keep and use, whether you end up buying the full set or not. So that's kind of a no-brainer to grab, and I invite everyone to do so. Smile
Perimeter Sound - Wed Nov 03, 2010 9:25 pm
Well, that was kind of quick ha-ha, but the first volume of the new loop sample set I did with Producer Loops has been released - http://www.producerloops.com/Download-Producer-Loops-Dance-Glitch-Vol-1.html It's that -top secret- one that I mentioned *above* that has a lot of the Zebrasonix sounds used in it.

Also, Zebrasonix is the #1 selling 'Vst Sound Bank' (on Producer Loops), although to be fair, for whatever reason it only lists the top 2 sellers in that product category ha-ha. But thanks to those who have shown their supprt and bought it, I hope you find lots of uses for the sounds in your productions. Smile

Suloo - Fri Nov 05, 2010 3:23 pm
Sure there is an Arp in zebra..but no arp presets like an OSC Preset or kind of..like MSEG Preset and so on..

its confusing..and i don't see any presets with just arp variations..thats why i ask..

Hi, thanks for your interest in Zebrasonix. Smile Every patch has an arp preset, just switch it to arp mode and there it is.

Seperate switchable interchangeable saveable 'arp presets' are not yet a feature of Zebra. I have suggested it to Urs in the past, so perhaps he has added it to his master list for a future update. Assuming that does happen in the future, you would of course be welcome to save any arp preset you liked from Zebrasonix, and import it for use with any other patch you may have. Hope this answers your question. Smile

There *might* be a sale on Zebrasonix in 2010. If there is, I'll be sure and make all the faithful KvRians aware of it. Smile And if not, we've got our next big Perimeter sale pencilled in for Feb or March 2011, and it will be another XX% off everything sale, so Zebrasonix will be included in that one for sure.
Perimeter Sound - Mon Nov 08, 2010 7:44 pm
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has purchased a copy and supported my (and Michael's) work on this set. Smile

Yes. To answer the question that no one has asked yet ha-ha, there will be a 2nd Zebra preset collection from me in 2011. It's being worked on currently, and I'm using all the tricks I learned along the way last time, as well as doing the X/Y pads and modwheel programming stuff myself this time.

And a reminder - the freebee pack is free-free, and downloadable right from the product page. So if you're short on cash, or just don't want to pay for presets, go grab it. Smile

Yes, I did just quote myself. HiHi

It seems kind of early to run a sale, a scant 2 weeks after the release, but the IDC winter/holiday sales event got scheduled for now, so here it is. Click on my sig for the link, get Zebrasonix for 1/3 off, get the Tone Sets presets for the Line POD Farm/Gearbox software for a ridiculous price, and check out crazy deals from all the other IDC devs too ! Cool

Dang! So much for the earlybird!
Perimeter Sound - Mon Nov 15, 2010 1:52 pm
Thanks for the interest, and sorry if anyone paid full price last week. Having it in the sale was a bit of a last minute decision, originally I was thinking maybe a weekend/3 day new years type sale on it in January, but this IDC holiday event came up, and I decided to jump on it. Smile

Remind me if I forget, and I'll make sure there's at least a weekend intro special for the hardKore KvR U-he forum people when the 2nd set is released (the 2nd collection is in the works, and I'm expecting it to be ready in January at this rate). Cool
moocher - Tue Nov 16, 2010 12:23 am
No worries. Good value at either price. I'll keep my eye out for the next set.
core - Tue Nov 16, 2010 1:22 am
Real nice sounds, good time to pick it up!
Perimeter Sound - Wed Nov 17, 2010 10:28 am
Thanks for the good words. Smile

The next set will be a hair smaller, and priced a bit lower. I'm not usually one to follow (or even notice ha-ha) trends too much, but after some looking around, it seems like smaller 'packs', be they patch sets, sample packs, or what have ya, are slowly becoming more popular. Mostly though, I had some new ideas and learned a few nu trix and wanted to use them, at 90 some patches in, I don't feel like I have too much left to do with it right now. So it's almost done, no need to drown people in repetition, and then try to charge them extra for it eh. Cool

Thanks. Smile There's definitely a lot of patches in it, and a lot of variety overall, so hopefully everyone can find some uses for a good bit of it in their music.

The IDC sale continues for another week at least, so it's not too late to save 1/3 off the normal price. Just click on my sig and check out the deals. Smile

Currently it is only listed on the Producer Loops site, and it sells for $29.99 there. I'd prefer to price it lower, but I only see a certain % from the sales.

The next Zebra patch set I release will be a bit smaller, and the price will reflect that. Smile

IMHO this sound set was a bargain.

Pricing is a tough one though; I doodle a little and have done some cool sounds but it is very time consuming . It should'nt be a issue to pay someone who specializes in this area , and , They are probably under compensated the majority of the time !!!

Some guys go the low price to acheive higher volume and others vice versa ... This set seems to be nicely placed in the middle of the road price wise and since it does have so many good sounds, it's really a nice addition to the Zebra pantheon of sounds...

( which is a nice accomplishment when you consider how many sound sets have been done for this instrument !!! . Congrats to the designer Very Happy !!)
Perimeter Sound - Sun Nov 21, 2010 8:09 pm
contrary - Thanks for your support. Smile There's just so much you can do with Zebra as far as programming it goes, that I never really felt like I was running out of ideas, or needed to try and cop some old/classic sounds with it. In fact that's where a lot of the 2nd set came from, ideas that I had after I had decided that the first set just needed a stopping point ha-ha. The 2nd set will pick up where the first one left off more or less, it will also be a little bit smaller, and will be priced a bit lower as well. Pricing is always a tricky thing, but as I explained above, a fairly good chunk of the price we pay for anything has to do with the middlemen/retailers. $29.99 isn't exactly no-brainer cheap, but it's a large set, performace mapped and ready to go, and it's for a $199 synth. But hey, right now it's 33% off in the IDC sale, so anyone who doesn't want to pay $29.99 for it has a chance to get it for $19.99 currently. And if they can't afford that right now, that's cool, go grab the freebee pack at least, check out a little bit of what's in the full set on the house. Smile

I'm happy to announce that Zebrasonix is available at Dance Midi Samples - http://www.dancemidisamples.com/Perimeter-Sound-Zebrasonix-U-He-Zebra-Soundset.html

So if you already have an account with them, you can now purchase it there. Smile

And yet another reminder to my KvR friends though, you can still save 1/3 on it through the 30th via my sig link, in the IDC winter/holiday sale event. Smile
Perimeter Sound - Thu Nov 25, 2010 2:34 pm
Since it doesn't look like I'm going to be having any turkey this thanksgiving (insert sad violins ha-ha) I thought I'd offer a free copy of Zebrasonix to someone else who isn't. So if you aren't having turkey for thanksgiving, then post here telling us what ya did have, and pm me your email address for a free copy of Zebrasonix.

1 winner only please, but you need not be in the U.S., even though that's turkey-central today, the KvR forums are pretty slow regardless. So I'll take the 1st person who didn't have turkey today, who tells us the sad story of what they did have for dinner ha-ha. (Hopefully this isn't in bad taste, it's just supposed to be a fun/goofy holiday thing. Smile )
paterpeter - Thu Nov 25, 2010 2:36 pm
Hi,

For dinner I just had a single dry slice of toast with ham of which I'm not even sure that it was still edible Sad Yes, life as a student is very tough. As such, I'd be totally happy to get this incredible soundset!

Just wanted to give everyone a last chance heads up, Zebrasonix along with many fine products in the IDC winter sales event, will only be on sale for about 8 more hours. If you don't get paid til tomorrow or the 2nd, I'll allow a 48 or so hour raincheck on the discount price, just pm me and let me know you'll pay no later than the 3rd, and you can lock-in the 1/3 off. Thanks for checking out Zebrasonix and the IDC sale if you did. Smile

My close friend Todd Milne of Perimeter Sound fame & fortune is having a birthday today. And I promised to do a Zebrasonix give away in 2 days, so let's combine the two events in a way.

There can be 2 winners. In the case that no one gets it spot on, the person closest wins. Guess how old my good friend turns today to win a free copy of Zebrasonix. Just post your best guess here, and sometime between noon and dinner time on x-mas day, I'll announce the winner(s). Smile

Oh, and in the case of more than 2 persons guessing it right, the first 2 to guess in post-order win, ie = no need to guess the same exact # a 3rd time if yer late to the game ha-ha. HiHi

And 2) a little more info about the up coming 2nd patch set in this thread here - http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4383234#4383234

Thanks for your support, and thanks for looking at this thread. If not for people taking an interest and Urs being such a rockstar and having his own friendly forum, I'd be left to boring news releases and manipulative SEO tactics to get the word out ha-ha. Laughing

Well, no b-day yet, so everyone still has a chance to have guessed right. Smile And glad to hear you liked Zebrasonix, it's not a bread & butter set, and I guess I wouldn't exactly call it *dessert* either, let's just say it's a big crazy batch of sounds for Zebra ha-ha. ROM will be another similar set, although I left out the 'drum kit' type of patches, and actually took a step or two (small steps I assure you ha-ha) toward the center - of some slightly more normal or common type sounds. And yes, there are a couple of weird *wobble* sounds, since those seem to be all the rage again/still/always. Smile

Hey, thanks for your business ! I hope you find some inspiring patches in the sets. Smile And yes, purchasing (anything) directly from the Perimeter webshop is a few dollars cheaper than other places online, simply because Tradebit takes a bit smaller cut.
