well, today I was lucky to find a long forgotten archive with some demotracks for Shuniji & Laserblade ... will be up soon in a playlist on my website.

Hopefully there are some tracks for ProtoPlasm too ... there are several foldes to be checked ...

Nothing better for deep ambient than your synths with Valhalla Shimmer on top. Love

though my website is currently down but as the 90 votes limit for the first to set free has been reached here you go:
winning is Shuniji Pro 2011 Cǎihóng bǎo (= rainbow treasure / free edition 2011

please remind the poll (& run) is still on for a second one to be set free

Judging from the free versions which I've tried, my vote is for ProtoPlasm Pro (TSM Version - pretty please??), as Shuniji Pro has too much of an asian flare and LaserBlade I find is mainly suited for FX. Where is everyone else's votes?

Well, like I said - my vote's for Protoplasm TSM - it's my favourite out of all the ones I've tried. Sad to say, my computer doesn't run your newer plugins so releasing a couple of your older ones as freeware really makes up for it.
Thanks so much.

Well, it will be ProtoPlasm Pro not PP TSM as this is still part of the HGF Classic bundle which is really cheap.

As of the newer plugins not running this is most likely due to your host which might not support the internal patch select and managing like e.g. old Logic for Windows. So this updated freebie might not run on your system either. You might crosscheck in testing with a small host like VSTHost.

Hi, HG, good to see the interest in your family jewels Smile If you get the chance,
or are interested, I'd like your opinion on my idea of selling products on
temporary dongles, (in the 90 day dongle topic) and the possibility of Indie Dev Collective members using something similar, to sell bundles at a price that would offset the cost of such a device/scheme, and hopefully buy some purchase time before the products
hit the torrents.
Cheers

Basspartout - Sun Dec 11, 2011 2:50 pm
I downloaded and tested Laseblade, Serenity, Shunji, UltraSwamp, Plutonia, Protoplasm, ArracisGold and SilverOrbit and to my ears they all have a similar basic character. They all look very nice indeed, but I was disappointed about the basic tonal character. Harsh digital sound with many noises and "artifacts"? , aliasing?, let's call them noises I had the feeling they dont belong there. The only exception is Protoplasm. With a chorus added (Tal Chorus 60) it sounded very good and much warmer as the others. Also with this one there were no audible distortion noises like with the others.
Just a friendly honest observation/feedback.
jdt - Sun Dec 11, 2011 3:09 pm
Wow, that's kinda strange. I've got a bunch of H.G.'s freebies and have never had any artifacts" or noticed any "noise(s)" that weren't supposed to be there. Confused

I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but you do understand the concept behind these synths right? I mean they're not supposed to be played like a piano...there are some presets on some models that are thinner, so to speak, but for the most part they use lengthy samples loaded in the oscillators and are meant to be triggered, tweaked and left to evolve over a period of time producing ambient textures, PADs and soundscapes.

If you try to play chords from your MIDI keyboard or an intricate melody line, you most definitely will not be pleased with the results in many instances.

Like I said, I'm not trying to be a wise a$$, just curious if you understand these instruments. Wink
Basspartout - Sun Dec 11, 2011 3:35 pm
Yeah, sure. Testing so many of them I soon figured out the concept which I still think is very nice. But to be clear: Apart from them not meeting my general sound taste (xcept Protoplasm as I said) I noticed some really nasty "artifacts" that to my ears shouldnt be there. Too bad I uninstalled all of them again already.... I noticed it especially in atmospheres/soundscapes/pads that had a high frequency stringsound character or part of it. If I played two or three notes, then suddenly there were some audible distortion noises like I'd say about two octaves lower. Not loud, but audible. This didnt occur with Protoplasm.

When I try to load the Asian_Touch.fxb, I get two error messages. Something about not being able to load Osc 1 and Osc 2 sf2. Any tips regarding fixing this?

Thanks

I solved the problem. The Shuniji 2011 Asian Touch fxb bank was created by P. Amca. When I tried to open this bank, it pointed to a location on P. Amca's computer for the SF2 files. Consequently, Osc 1 and Osc 2 would not load.

I'm sorry for posting this reply later than I should have, I can't post on this forum much anymore. :/

@Fortune:

Thank you for the free synths. You might already know I have had Solar Orbit but will use Silver Orbit now because it has the better patch-management system. Also downloaded and checked out LaserBlade-S and Shunji Pro.

Checked out that strange soundset by JohnDoe for Shunji Pro, those clashing rhythms and synth sequences had me pressing for a song of my own along those lines!

Peace everyone. Smile

Hi, i hope someone can tell me what is this.
I got a new "issue" since i'm using these new freebies from HG Fortune.

I'm using FL Studio, and where it should show the parameters changes, numbers, etc (the info panel) i can see a "Patch Mem - Float Out X.X" (Where X are cyphers oscillating down/up and up/down from 0 to 9.9)

This is the first time i see this in my whole life.
And this is a constant info, so i can't see the info when i choose another parameter/knob/slider and change their values.

What is this Patch Mem - Float Out? There is any way to quit out?
I would like to use them, but the info panel is crazy with these numbers.

EDIT: Fixed now, i just unchecked the "Notify about parameters changes" in the Settings Tab/Automation. In case someone has the same issue.

Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas Smile
