anyone know of a "high quality" tone generator AU or stand alone App...?
i have Waved Editor and i've tried NCH and Singal Scope Pro but they all seem to yield less than impressive results...
Logic's tone generator actually seems "cleaner" than all of these, but it's frequency selection is somewhat limited...
is there something wrong with my mac cause i just can't seem to get one of these programs to generate tones without harmonics...?
or is that just the way it is with tone generators...?
call me crazy but i swear i used to get clean tones from Wave Editor...or maybe i just never bothered checking before...Embarassed
either way, it's kind of aggravating...

EDIT: ok i can get much cleaner tones in Wave Editor if i use dither but i would still like another generator...
i like the way the NCH one is set up but it's giving me pretty ugly tones...i just downloaded the demo so maybe i'm missing something...

cool, thanks...i tried the mda one and it was alittle too dirty but the melda one looks interesting...
i really like the layout/gui of the NCH generator, but i can't get clean tones...i might have to RTFM if there is one...or it's just not any good...we'll see...

Hi,

in case you're still looking, here's a tone generator / tuner app ( www.AudioNotch.com/app/tune ) that I wrote.

It's original function is to help people with the treatment of tinnitus, so that our users know what frequency the ringing in their ears is at but it can be used for anything else too.
