Ouch. The demos sound AMAZING. I just sprung for Predator, though.
So NO SOUP FOR YOU........................
JD Gaffe - Sun Feb 26, 2012 7:33 am
I think you need to work on your forum pitches, a single sentence almost seems like spam.
Igro - Sun Feb 26, 2012 7:36 am
Demo songs sound nice. But no demo? Also, are there only three modulation slots? But the price is nice!
VitaminD - Sun Feb 26, 2012 7:41 am
A Michael Olsen product? It sounds pretty good.

Well would it be not better(specially for the sales and users) to have the demo directly online on the release?

One short question about sibscribe etc...

I have a "free signup" account on SonicAcademy, did i get so also as free subscriber the intro price of 29.95 GBP? It's not really good written her(which kind of subscribe type is required).

And btw, last week, where i want to subscribe as silver pass subsribtion the orderpage didn't worked, so as btw bug info Very Happy
djanthonyw - Sun Feb 26, 2012 8:18 am
Nice! I'm glad I didn't get dune, this one sounds a lot better. The interface is really great too. Smile
ClubHo - Sun Feb 26, 2012 8:34 am
Congratulations and thank you very much for making a great synth!

The 32bit version works so far but the 64bit version crashes Cubase when trying to change patches or categories. (Windows 7, Cubase 6.05 x64)

I can't wait to start a Dune vs. Sylenth1 vs. ANA thread.

I should have registered on your site with my real name.

ANA says "licensed to ClubHo" Laughing

Glad you like it!

Thanks for the heads up... ill look in to the 64bit issue.
4damind - Sun Feb 26, 2012 8:57 am
There is a small lag (some seconds) while closing the editor windows in Cubase 6 32Bit this time it will "freeze" the Cubase GUI.
Using the "Instrument Button" from Cubase instead the close button of the editor windows is a workaround but eventually there is chance to fix this?
I remember other plug-ins like the Glue had some similar behavior in earlier versions but with newer versions this bug is gone.
philterino - Sun Feb 26, 2012 8:59 am

philterino - Sun Feb 26, 2012 9:03 am
great! thanks!
4damind - Sun Feb 26, 2012 9:24 am
Btw this preview button is a nice idea to make programming of sounds a bit easier. The sequence is hard-coded and cannot be changed?
philterino - Sun Feb 26, 2012 9:33 am
Kinda yeah...

there is a midi file in each category folder in the presets folder called preview.mid

you could save your own midi file and pop it in if you like.
djanthonyw - Sun Feb 26, 2012 9:49 am
Any chance the audio demos could be downloadable from soundcloud? Soundcloud's compression is horrible.
philterino - Sun Feb 26, 2012 9:57 am

Can you take a look into the mono legato stuff? Portamento knob should normally set the time how long it takes that the next tone "slides" in (in combination with the "slide" knob)? This seems not to work as expected. I tried this with a typical "slided" bass with overlapped programmed notes.

Great! Thumbs Up!
A have a small suggestion for the oscillator selector buttons: implement a right-mouse button "copy and paste", so settings can be copied between this 2 oscillators.
heatmaxwell - Sun Feb 26, 2012 12:47 pm
so am i lost or there no polyphony button? like if i want several voices per osc but only two notes max at a time. only saw the mono legato. i've only spent a few minutes, so i could just have missed something obvious
also, will there be a way to adjust "intensity" like in massive when using talking or grain style synths?

otherwise, sounds are great!!!
philterino - Sun Feb 26, 2012 12:48 pm
yeah maybe just a button like "copy to OSC 2" & "copy to OSC 1"

nice idea thanks!
sfernald - Sun Feb 26, 2012 12:51 pm
I picked this up. Such a good deal.

Are there any plans for video tutorials to be released on it shortly?
philterino - Sun Feb 26, 2012 12:53 pm
There are 5 walkthroughs on the site now just taking you through the basic operation. But there will be more coming on creating specific sounds.
sfernald - Sun Feb 26, 2012 1:11 pm
Great. Will check them out..

Hope you do one where you use it to product the tracks (ie, lead, bass, etc) for an entire song. Don't care about the genre so much, classic house, dupstep, etc. Really just want to see it in action on a cool song.

I use cubase and studio one 2 but I don't really care about the daw so much. Just hate ableton live, but I can usually translate whatever is going on in the video to my daw anyway.
philterino - Sun Feb 26, 2012 1:14 pm
We will be using it as much as possible in all our future tutorials...
sfernald - Sun Feb 26, 2012 1:33 pm
Just FYI. I ran the x64 plugin in Studio One 2 and the daw crashed within like 30 seconds of playing and flipping through presets.

This thing is not ready for prime time. Are refunds available???

Why the hell are people purchasing a brand new product without being able to demo it? I just don't get it. Sonic Academy should seriously wait till the demo is ready and do a round of open beta.

Honestly, I guess I'm naive. I've never had an issue with a vst I've purchased whether synth or effect. I guess I just assumed it went through testing and beta or it wouldn't be 1.0.

That said, I'm willing to wait for the fix, which I'm sure will come quickly. The synth does sound great. They just need to fix the crash bug.
4damind - Sun Feb 26, 2012 2:48 pm
It's rock stable with the 32Bit version so it's not bad to have it released this time. I'm sure that some things will be fixed and sorted out in a short time so all is fine.
Nearly all first released synth had problems and bugs also with Beta tests and stuff. People can wait a week or so if the demo version is available and than try how it works. "Early Adopters" will have fun since today Razz

Im having crashes with the 32bit version in live8. Havent found an exact method to reproduce it yet, but it crashes hard, not even the usual live error box. My mouse goes all wonky and I have a hard time controlling it when this happens, which I have never seen before either, and I have to kill live through the taskmgr

Edit-
i attached a preset over on the SA forums that I can pretty reliably reproduce this with. Just start movin the modwheel around and after a few seconds I have the crash
ClubHo - Sun Feb 26, 2012 3:30 pm
There is absolutely nothing wrong with purchasing a 1.0 release.
It was very cool of Sonic Academy to allow people to buy it before a demo came out!
Of course there are going to be bugs. First time I loaded the 64bit version it crashed on me right away. I laughed. No big deal. It's a 1.0 release. I would have to be a complete moron to think there would be no issues. Software released in the wild will always have a few problems to iron out.

Never purchase a 1.0 release of any software if you can't handle it. HiHi Shocked

Cheers,

Club Ho
philterino - Sun Feb 26, 2012 3:30 pm
Ok thanks for that... i will try to replicate it my end and get a fix sorted.
A.M. Gold - Sun Feb 26, 2012 4:11 pm
I think this is known as a post-release beta. Sad
bryansonic - Sun Feb 26, 2012 5:18 pm
we did run a BETA, and it went well and we ironed out a lot of bugs, but we obviously don't have the massive number of circumstances brought to the table when we go full release.

Luckily our dev is on hand and we should have an update asap to fix the current issues!

- PS> the bug with the Cart Page has been fixed. apologies for that, was a tricky one to track down.
A.M. Gold - Sun Feb 26, 2012 5:30 pm
My point is that if you wait a week to get you release and your demo lined up, you will have complaints, but not from customers, from potential customers.

That's obviously up to you, though. If people who forked over their cash and got a crash aren't screaming and hollering, then I guess it's no biggie.

One feature request...
Would be nice if we could import other samples in osc 3 and 4 please.
Is there a way to this now Question

I pretty much only checked some bass presets yesterday and i found them very usable. Probably somehow like Nexus. I really like the g-env or what it's called. Multipoint env so to speak, graphically editable and a wide range of routing options. There is some really nice stuff in this, glad i got it.
Sendy - Tue Feb 28, 2012 3:36 am
Why do I want to buy this? It doesn't even have oscillator interactions! (PWM, sync, FM, ring, etc). I think it's just the sound of the filters and oscillators I like. So tempting... GAH!

If you added some more synthesis functions to this, like those above, I'd have already probably bought it.

I'm an idiot, though. I have like every synth Crying or Very sad
philterino - Wed Feb 29, 2012 8:19 am

Wow, this is quick! Thanks Phil for this fantastic synth Love
sfernald - Wed Feb 29, 2012 9:15 am
Well, the crash bugs on the x64 version seem to be gone for me. Thanks good.

What's with the cpu usage though? If I play a chord of the preset 'wander bell' a few times fast it maxes out my computers and starts distorting? And I have a monster i7 pc. I can't think of too many synths that bring it to its knees. Even DIVA in divine mode runs fine.
4damind - Wed Feb 29, 2012 9:22 am
The closing bug is not gone Sad
Version number will be shown as 1.0.0 and not 1.0.1 (the installer has 1.0.1).

Our next focus will be on a better note management system so this wont happen.

There's some great potential in this synth. The presets are pretty coo as well.
More won't do harm. How about Umek's trademark synth on Lanicor etc.
That would almost make me cry Smile

are you getting crashes with this bug or is it just the lagging?

No but it will block all floating windows, also the mixer windows etc. If one instance of Ana is opened, every windows has this closing lag like shown in the screen-cast.

I remember Cytomic the Glue had a similar bug (used the Juice framework). Eventually Andy (Andrew Simper) has an idea about this behaviour and what has solved it. I will ask Andy, eventually he remembers about this bug.

The closing bug is not gone Sad
Version number will be shown as 1.0.0 and not 1.0.1 (the installer has 1.0.1).

Yeah the installer and synth (about) have wrong version number. We will fix in next update.

Could you post HERE with your issue and system specs and as much info as to when this happens.

Damn i really though this was sorted.

This is my screencast there Wink But I can add some additional infos.

cool... what processor have you got?
manducator - Wed Feb 29, 2012 3:42 pm
Just bought it. So far so good.

But isn't there a manual, a pdf or something?
philterino - Wed Feb 29, 2012 3:46 pm
No manual yet... there are walkthrough videos on the site and youtube which takes you through all the features.

im really in need of a quality synth for modern electronic music production and the demos sound excellent.. now I am hearing terrible things about plugin performance, very high cpu usage, etc... should I hang in and even consider this synth ? really wish I could try for myself before i spend any money ...

Wait some days if the demo version is available! Should be next week.

The Demo Will be out very shortly so you will be able to decide for yourself.

We will be continuing to optimize performance in the coming weeks.

Our Vintage Filters seem to be hogging a lot of CPU compared to the standard 2/4 Pole... although we should be able to get them it down quite a bit.

I did a comparison with Imposcar2 and with the same number of voices you get similar CPU results.

I think its just that a lot of our patches in the original build where using more voices than necessary and using the vintage filters when they weren't needed.

V1.01 Presets use resource a lot better.

You can check out Various Benchmarks here

Im having no problems using many instances on full tracks on my iMAC and MAC Book. im getting around 40% CPU with the benchmark setup.

Right up the alley if you are doing dance, predominantly. I also think it's sweet.

Sounds like a Virus / Sylenth. I would have to say better than Sylenth though because Sylenth sounds kind of hyped and lacking power in the lower mid frequencies. This one sounds full all around.
