Not so much interested in another compressor, but I will try your tape echo
Steplton - Sun Mar 25, 2012 2:25 am
Thank you for good compressor!
lereme - Sun Mar 25, 2012 2:44 am
The tape echo is my first plugin... it still Really buggy !
bpblog - Sun Mar 25, 2012 2:56 am

too bad. Please let us know if it is updated
I don't have tape echo yet that I am really happy with.
bpblog - Sun Mar 25, 2012 7:49 am
tried the tape echo. it really is buggy as hell, but it looks and sounds very promising!
i played around with it in MuLab 4. the CPU instantly went to around 35% when the plugin was loaded. there are cracks in the audio from time to time and the controls are a bit hard to tame.
however, i really like what the plugin does, the sound is rich and it reminds me of my Dynacord Echocord Mini. please continue developing this plugin!
lereme - Sun Mar 25, 2012 8:12 am
I've done no debug at all on this plugin, I just develop it for my macintosh (OS X 10.6) with logic pro, the tape algorithm is awfull.
There is a lot of tricks with JUCE I din't notice (memory allocation, slider values), I will refresh a bit the source and make new version if I got time. But why the hell people prefer this delay at my compressor !
I notice you if I make an update
thecontrolcentre - Sun Mar 25, 2012 8:22 am
Welcome to KVR ... and thanks for the plugins.
ntom - Sun Mar 25, 2012 8:25 am
Remind me to download it when I get home
Tapehead - Sun Mar 25, 2012 8:59 am
Sounds good! It would be great if you can make for windows 64 (VST).
Thank you

noooooo! i mean, i don't know what you wanted to get from this plugin, but i really like how it sounds.

haha, haven't even tried the compressor yet. i have a thing for tape delays.
scalawag - Sun Mar 25, 2012 10:02 am
It turns sound to Mono in Ableton Live....
Windows 64bit
metalifuxx - Sun Mar 25, 2012 11:31 am

Hello everybody
As you suggested I pass a few hours to optimize and tune more finely the TapeDelay.
I think it should work really better than before.
I'm not really shure it will be OK for everybody, I've just tried with Logic Pro 9.
I'm not shure the version will be compatible with mac OS 10.5 or before, a more compatible version is coming soon for mac.
But I'm shure the version is more stable, more intuitive in ajusting the settings, and the GUI is better

Just tried it on my work PC and I have to tell you, this delay really rocks.
It sounds distinctive and it's easy to tweak.
Great job Lereme
I'm not really in the market for another compressor (though I will try it), but I'd definitely be interested in any more delay / modulation based effects you come up with.
A big thank you for your generosity and keep up the good work.
bpblog - Wed Mar 28, 2012 7:06 am
thanks, can't wait to try the new version of the delay! really liked it on the first run.
downloading this and the compressor, will report about the performance.
lereme - Wed Mar 28, 2012 2:52 pm
The update will work only with mac OS 10.7
I had to compile with my old macbook under 10.6 to target 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6
Sorry for that, I will tell you when it's OK for everybody.
thank you andy

tested the tape delay now.
Reaper64bit, Win7.
The delay sometimes stops for unknown reasons. Apart from that it sounds fine.
Sounded mono to me, too, though.
btw : your thread title sounds rather dramatic. The correct word would be 'latest' instead of 'last'. At least they taught me that in school many years ago
sorry for not trying the compressor. I have so many already, but a while ago I decided I only need ReaComp and Red Phatt Pro. I de-installed the rest of them as two comps is enough for me
lereme - Thu Mar 29, 2012 4:53 pm
darsho, maybe you miss that, but the point is that I'm French, And I've opened this thread at 4 in the morning, so I wasn't really brilliant at this moment !
It's strange, I compile in 32 bit, how can this work on reaper 64b ?
I'm not really fluent with debguging on windows, Sorry for this bugs...
But as the threat title says, I didn't wanted to talk about the delay, because I know he has a couple of bugs, and for me the algorithm is not...so great...
But anyway thank you for your response, maybe if you have a precise description about when the sounds stop it really could help me.
P.S. : shure, there is a lot of compressors, few are really good, my favorite is the softube CL-1B ! Do you have any advise for a good AND musical EQ ?
Audiophilius - Sat Mar 31, 2012 6:46 am
BLOWN AWAY... that's all I can say. Yes, also the compressor.
True, there are lots of (way too many) compressors these days, but this one is extremely worthwhile checking. Check the way this plugin handles transients in a beautiful & natural (may I say 'analog'?) way. Well done, KingTao!!!
I believe, with the addition of a few features, this could also become a very interesting mastering compressor:
• Lower (more subtle) ratios
• Mid/Side processing
Hint: try this one together with DDMF's Metaplugin in multiband mode; there'll be a nice surprise waiting for you.
Well, I believe that's it for now.
Greetings!

Reaper has an in-built bit-bridge
lereme - Sat Mar 31, 2012 4:47 pm
really ? this is really great ! in fact 32 bits it's really enougth for 16 tracks !
Audiophilius, thank you, but in fac, it's not a really complicated algorithm (until the curve algorithm who drives me crazy), if you want a can give you a version with a small trick on attacks, it make small distortion on transients... in facts you limit the "pumping" effect but it's surprising, because in fac, our ear is not really sensible on a small saturation, it's only a small 2' harmonic, but it can be really helpfull in a few cases, it works really well on fela kutti style snare drums !

Complexity is not always a requirement for brilliancy, Lereme.

Maybe because there are 200 other compressor plugins out there?
