How to Vote
There are two votes: a vote for the best patch overall patchbank and a vote for the best individual patch. The first vote, that for the best patchbank, is the one that matters. The vote for individual patches is just a bit of fun.
Voting: Patchbanks
Simply post a list of your top 5 patchbanks in order.
To avoid confusion please format your votes like this:
Patchbanks
1st -your choice- 5 pts
2nd -your choice- 4 pts
3rd -your choice- 3 pts
4th -your choice- 2 pts
5th -your choice- 1 pt
Everyone who votes for their favourite patchbanks will get a link to download a further mini-patchbank containing around 20 patches for Diva, some of which can be heard in the audio examples in
this thread (the link will be sent out on Monday - need to work out how I'm going to do that yet...).
NB: This vote (for the best patchbank) is the only one that really matters!
Voting: Patches*
Those who so wish, including the authors, may also vote for their favourite individual patches. As with the patchbank vote, simply post a list of your favourite 5 patches in descending order, but preface your vote with "Individual Patches".
*Voting for individual patches is just for fun - there is no prize for the winner.
Rules
- Voting is open to any KVR member who has been a member for at least two months and has made 5 previous posts.
- Patch authors must not solicit votes for their patchbanks/patches either by posts in the forum or by any other means, or do anything that might identify their patchbanks/patches.
- Patch authors should not vote for their own patches in the individual patch vote.
- The public votes will be added to the author votes after voting closes on Monday.
- The bank with the most points wins its author one u-he NFR (not for resale) software product. The second placed bank wins 3ee's Winter Patchbank for Zebra.
- u-he reserves the right to disqualify any author who is deemed to have engaged in foul play.

If you have less than 23 banks please re-download from the link in the first post - some banks have been added (due to alarm clock mishaps and the like

).

PM me the patchname 3ee - I think I've tried em all with no probs, but maybe I missed it?
hakey - Sun Apr 01, 2012 8:18 am
Yup -that patch is a problem. Doesn't crash for me, but it doesn't load. It looks like part of the .h2p file is visible in the patch info box?
I'll contact the author.
3ee - Sun Apr 01, 2012 8:26 am
^Yes ... doesn't crash anymore (at least atm, I guess it depends what previous patch was loaded) but it :what you described:
hakey - Sun Apr 01, 2012 8:33 am
Okay - I've reuploaded the Steempunk patchbank - patch Baroq_02a should now work.
Any problems with it please let me know.
(It seems it was my editing the author name from "???" to "?" that caused the problem - don't know why, but for whatever reason that snafus the patch every time).
xh3rv - Sun Apr 01, 2012 8:36 am
many many patches
I *think* some patch stopped Diva in it's tracks for me, had to reload, but can't recreate and have some alternate theories now. So mostly patches just stopping me in my tracks

Downloaded from Hakey's link not Patchlib link and I confirm there are 23 banks. Just quickly went through all of them and I must say, everyone has done an excellent job. Loved the INIT patch in one of the bank

, I know it must have been left there by mistake.
Good luck to all the contestants.

I just synchronized the bank on the Patchlib with hakey's from the the first post. Aside from the .zip name they should be identical.
KBSoundSmith - Sun Apr 01, 2012 11:19 am
Well, I've been having quite a bit of fun going through these patches. I just went through a first pass of each, taking notes on each bank (which I suppose I can't/shouldn't share at this point). I have to go through another pass where I'll start to consider candidates for voting. Nice work everyone!
Gonga - Sun Apr 01, 2012 11:46 am
I just went through the original banks, now installing all 23. Some wonderful stuff in here, it'll be tough to rank them...

May I suggest posting who voted for what, (from the pm voting) after the competition is over, as to verify no mistakes in count were made, and also make sure no persons vote was made incorrectly.
Thanks.

And thanx for all the cool new presets. Some very, very cool ones in there.
All the best, Fritz

You mean you didn't pay for my patches yet?
No seriously: You can freely use my patches in any context where it's good to use Diva herself.
S0lo - Wed Apr 04, 2012 12:15 pm
Thanks, but I meant the contest presets them selves inside this DivaPC1.zip file. Are they free, Can I just use them in my music, or do I have to take permission from the authors.

hmm.. let's see...
some of my favorite patches are: mainly the ones that don't max out my cpu in fast quality mode

..and got something midi hooked or at least must be interesting in some way...or/and well crafted.
This doesn't mean that I necessarily voted for the banks as well.. these are just few of my favorite patches.
Individual Patches:
1st Sync Poo

(DOG)
2nd Lead Bite (DOG)
3rd Blinky Panel (something something Moon bank)
4th Number 7 (Pink LEDs Bank)
5th String Pad (91 New Age Bank)
Other great ones as well... can't really make up my mind
xh3rv - Wed Apr 04, 2012 2:49 pm
Didn't necessarily vote for the banks either. I hot-listed all of these ... and another couple dozen while voting
1) Melting Pad (Viva La Diva)
2) Softly Speaking (City Never Speaks)
3) Orange Fruit (Color Bank)
4) Interesting Brian (diva noob)
5) The Iron Horse (Just For Fun FX)
bmrzycki - Wed Apr 04, 2012 3:46 pm
So difficult to vote on an entire bank esp. when several of them had at least one excellent patch. I picked based on the overall feeling a bank gave me:
1st -Pink LEDs Bank- 5 pts
2nd -91 Newage Bank- 4 pts
3rd -Chip of the ol Block- 3 pts
4th -No Zebra Prints- 2 pts
5th -Cosmophile- 1 pt
Nice work everyone, really.
audientronic - Wed Apr 04, 2012 3:51 pm
Great sounds everyone…
Here were some of my favorite patches (not necessarily in banks I voted for either):
1. Number 7 (Pink LEDs Bank)
2. Steam Puff Calliope (Steempunk Baroq)
3. EMI Synthi AKS 1 (diva noob)
4. SEQ Next Level Ahead (Chip of the Ol Block)
5. Earl Grey (Drink)
A lot more as well...
Smack Dammit - Wed Apr 04, 2012 10:29 pm
1. Roloog Brass (1978)
2. Luna (Cosmophile)
3. Mean (Divastation)
4. Duo Lead Food (DOG)
5. PW Boss (Chip of the ol block)

Hey Smack Dammit, the vote that really matters here is for the best patch
bank, not the best individual patch. So if you could vote for your favourite 5 patchbanks it would be greatly appreciated (everyone who votes also gets a 20 patch Diva bank - see
here).
Those above just voting for patches are the patchbank authors who have already voted for patchbanks by PMs.
EDIT: Sorry Smack, you're not eligible to vote (see the rules in the second post).
3ee - Thu Apr 05, 2012 12:42 am
If the next contest would be about TyrellN6, I suggest that we continue the idea with the small patch bank.
I find it a bit unfair to snatch an u-he product just by making one simple patch!
+the more the better, more stuff to choose from for everybody!
hakey - Thu Apr 05, 2012 12:44 am
@ Everyone:
Please carefully read the voting instructions in the second post.
In particular, to avoid any ambiguity and make counting the votes easier, I would appreciate it if votes could be written in this form:
Patchbanks
1st -your choice- 5 pts
2nd -your choice- 4 pts
3rd -your choice- 3 pts
4th -your choice- 2 pts
5th -your choice- 1 pt
And if you're voting for patches, please preface your vote with "Individual Patches".
Thanks.

It's a major screw-up that there's no parameter for automating this in terms of primary colors as well as the full-spectrum sweep.

I just had a stupid idea which may be useful.
There is ALWAYS confusion about the deadlines because of the timezones etc.
Maybe we could use a countdown like
this for the next contest and post the link in the first post.
I used
this site to generate it. It's this best site I can find at the moment.
Just an idea
My example countdown is just a stupid countdown to the PAX Mass Effect panel by the way

2nd BANK_LEFT_AT_MOON // 4 pts
3rd DPC No Zebra Prints // 3 pts
4th kittens // 2 pts
5th diva noob // 1 pt

Life getting in the way of another contest...again. My mishaps seem to know exactly when I am trying to enter a ZPC APC or DPC

Well, I will post my bank for free here since it did not get entered. I will do 1 or 2 more patches beforehand but no rush jobs,...ever. Here are my votes for this DPC. Great work guys, all of you!
1st - Pink LEDs Bank 5 pints <--- Great control + patches
2rd - diva noob 4 pints <--- Picked up some diva boots
3th - DPC No Zebra Prints 3 pints
4nd - DOG 2 pints
5st - Viva La Diva 1 pint
Favourite patch? Not even going there. You guys must know, there is some truly fantastic work in the banks that got outvoted. It really hurt to not include the beautiful pad work of 91 Newage Bank, for example or excellent theme of City Never Sleeps. I mostly went on number of patches that I gave stars in each bank and if those tied then I tallyed after additional efforts such as playability alternatives and effect the bank as a whole had on my inspiration to start a track, if left only with those patches to lay a foundation. Great work and thank you for sharing! I'll offer up my bank asap chaps.

The final score is very close - so close that I'd like someone to check my adding.
By me reckoning it's:
1st City Never Sleeps, Aiyn 81 pts
2nd Viva La Diva, Doc Jon 80 pts
3rd Pink LEDs Bank, Bronto Scorpio 70 pts
So congrats to Aiyn (I think).
I'll fill in the rest of the scores and put author names to banks tomorrow.
Aiynzahev - Sun Apr 08, 2012 6:09 pm
Oh I am so surprised who the authors were, not who I was thinking at all!
KBSoundSmith - Sun Apr 08, 2012 6:11 pm
Can we get a list of all the authors and the banks they submitted? I'd like to know who made all the banks. Contratz to the winners!
Edit: Oops, didn't see that last bit on your post..

so, uh, just contgratz to the winners!...
Aiynzahev - Sun Apr 08, 2012 6:32 pm
Okay my count
City Never Sleeps 83
pink leds 70
viva la diva 80
In other words exactly what you counted.
I am so glad so many liked it! I am stunned. Thanks to everyone who voted!
xh3rv - Sun Apr 08, 2012 6:53 pm
I just counted the top two several times in different orders, to get front-to-back and back-to-front match and then once more per patch to for a final check ... 81, 80 as posted by Hakey ... about the final totals for all patches,

thanks Hakey
Nicely done Aiyn and everyone!
satYatunes - Sun Apr 08, 2012 7:05 pm
