iPad.

Yayyy!!! Copy/Paste! Take THAT AmpKit! Will the updates to the iPad version be done at the same time?

What exactly is AmpKit+ "taking" when it's had Copy/Paste for quite awhile? It's a welcome addition, but really Amplitube is just playing catch up.
Brian @ IK Multimedia - Fri Apr 06, 2012 5:51 pm
DrApostropheX, the iPad update will be slightly behind the iPhone.
polaris20, yes, there are a couple features we had to catch up on, and we did that with the 2.5 update. But we've always been well ahead of the pack on the most important one: TONE.

I wouldn't know, I haven't been able to use it since I got my Apogee.
I look forward to trying it again though, once this version comes out.

Even I LOL'd at that. Though I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with the results. We crammed a lot of update into this one, that's why it is taking a bit to get tested.

NEW Transport... any other guesses on new features...

Another leaked pic from testing...

Maybe you can route Sampletank through Amplitube. Nah, Apple wouldn't allow that.
DrApostropheX - Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:51 am
Any app with a MIDI button that lets you change MIDI configs has gotten me salivating
ObiK - Sun Apr 15, 2012 11:13 am
Its got a bit more than just that....

Yeah, but I'm easy that way
Speaking of easy, will these upgrades be rolled out to Vocalive, eventually, too (audiocopy/paste, etc.)?
ObiK - Mon Apr 16, 2012 10:56 am
Yes, after we are done with AmpliTube on iPhone's update we'll start on the rest of our iOS apps.

I guess Audiobus support. But that might be asking for too much, since it isn't out yet and all...
ObiK - Sat Apr 21, 2012 5:39 pm
Lol nice guess. I haven't heard anything on Audiobus, so its safe to say that won't be in this update. BUT we do have some other COOL features coming still...

And now the $ ??.?? question: will this be a free upgrade for existing Amplitube users or a new paid version?
Oh: and please tone down the frequency of the purchase requests: one type per app launch (and all on the very first launch if you insist) should be enough. It.serves no purpose to interrupt the user workflow with information we are already aware of other than to generate annoyance.
This and the lack of a USB input has given me pause. Do these pop ups become less frequent once a single purchase has been made?
ObiK - Sun Apr 22, 2012 10:26 am
Right now we are focused on the development and testing, more details will be announced closer to release.
Peter - IK Multimedia - Sun Apr 22, 2012 10:56 am
On the issue of popups, you are not supposed to get them for things you already have and supposed to be limited. I will have someone look at this.

The update will be free, but it will also contain new in-app purchases to further expand your app.

Well, now I can compare it against Ampkit and see how I like it.

It wasn't even willing to consider it before, because I don't do realtime audio on my iPad, just phrases of saved audio. One can't have too many amps and effects.

Also, from what I understand, there is an in-app update that allows vocal effects too. I think it will be worth checking out now.

My guess would be that floor pedal controls will be able to be used--but then again, I haven't used this app, and it may have already had this.

ObiK - Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:22 am
Yup, you can assign the pedals to different MIDI controllers! Plus you can also use CoreAudio, Retina display, new
Slash gear models and copy/paste!
bobbackwards - Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:31 am
Just dl'd Slash...very nice. This may be old news too but I ordered from the custom shop without buying credits...with my jam points I paid $43.99. No matter what haters say IK is a great company...
whippet6 - Fri Jun 15, 2012 7:00 am
I love my Amplitube on my iTouch. I do not like the iPad because it won't fit in my pocket, and I use it for so many other things I can't leave home without it. HOWEVER, the iTouch version of Amplitube is limited to 3 the first of which MUST be a noise gate, so we're really limited to TWO effects. It would be nice to have the noise gate as a default so we could TRULY have THREE effects - or, even better, like Ampkit, even more than three.

OK, I tried Amplitube Fender tonight, and was REALLY impressed. So, about $45 of Itunes credits later, I own a whole mess of Amplitube Ipad + addons.
One HUGE problem (and one gripe):
Problem:
Where is the metronome lead in for the Recorder??? How in the world am I supposed to push record and begin playing my guitar at the same time?
Either I'm an idiot and am missing something basic, or this is a MAJOR omission.
My gripe is that I paid for the VocalLive effects, but you can only use ONE of them at a time. I also seemed to miss that detail. I don't get what the idea is, here?
ObiK - Sun Jun 17, 2012 5:02 pm
We are still working to improve AmpliTube with each update so expect to see these refinements as time goes on. You can also post any feature requests for our whole team to see on the
IK forums.
