In spectral mode is it possible to load a sample and highlighting some spectrum areas à la isotope Iris?

Yep. By multiplicate brush mode with lower ocapacity.

The example towards the end is similar to the technique you are referring to. Part of a drum loop in copied using the spectral editor and pasted to a new position, altering the loop. With a bit of patience some really nice results can be achieved.

Thanks for your replies! Anyway I believe Iris way is much straightforward and I Would be glad to see it in Alchemy.
