You just have to register as a new user, and it will be available in the downloads section. It is a very nice alternative to Catanya and totally free. Be sure to consider supporting his other products while you are at it! I'm picking up a loop pack even though I don't know anything about house music just to say 'thanks' for the nice arp.

BTW I have an issue with my loop download link, the website is still getting up to speed so you may need to contact the developer if you have the same issue, but the loops are cheap, and as far as I was concerned personally a donation/payment for the excellent arp. But you can grab the arp now and get the loops at a later date if you so choose, either way the arp is free Smile

I wish there was some info about the arp. I'm wary of signing up without a bit more info.

Ok, once I'm back from sky diving and settled on my comfy sofa with a cup of tea I'll consider it.

For that are trash mail addresses.

Here I found a video:

No manual included - the results of the matrix screen are a little unpredictable

If you are familiar with Catanya this should be very easy to comprehend. Basically there are three octave lanes containing three fingering patternse, split into 32 beats, so you input 3 fingered chords and it arpaggiates them based on the pattern.

So start with something simple, click reset to clear the pattern and use only the first three top 'fingers' of the top lane, and make up-down pattern or something similar. You will instantly hear what you see and should get oriented. Once you do that and it makes sense to you, make a pattern in the next three rows of notes (ie. the second octave lane down) and so forth.

I think the lower your latency the better the timing will be, it seems a wee bit shaky but if you record your playing into your sequencer using input quantization it will give a really good result. You can load a big selection of presets patterns,

From the preset page you can adjust the timing and a gate of notes (DSR is like ADSR but without attack).

Anyhow it is a cool little arp and a welcome addition to my toolbox, and if you don't have Catanya (which is expensive) it is especially great since it is free. It is a different take on arps than the standard found in most synths and can give really good, natural sounding accompaniment to your compositions beyond the synthy sounds of most arps.

You need to click the authorization link in the email they send, did you do that?

Well let's hope this 'give away' gimmick (Yes I did pay for mines back in the day) is a sign of a new version to come. Seem like 7Aliens is talking about version 2 of Catanya... Hope to see it in my lifetime.. Sad Sad Sad

OK, now let me scan KVR to see who have developed another synth... Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Yeah I'm not sure that is in the works, I think he is just working on his loops. I actually asked him about it a month or so ago and he said that he'd post it soon as a freebie on his new website. I don't believe it will be updated or supported. Actually this is from his email response to my request:

I must let you know there will not be any future updates for Timecore unfortunately. There will be new tools and sample packs coming soon, so check them out at loopmasons.com

But as it is it a a very nice freebie, in some ways I prefer it to Catanya. An update to Catanya is coming but per 7aliens developer it will be a while yet, maybe a year.

Very Happy yeah I'd love to frankenstein together my ultimate arp too!

BTW CK Pattern Arp Plus is another very excellent and cheap arp, 8 UK pounds I think, and another interesting unconventional take on arpaggiation. If you aren't familiar with it check it out, the demo is limited to internal, simple synth sound BTW, don't let that dissuade you. It is incredibly musical.

That one looks ok. Sort of Guru style pattern concept. Interesting indeed...

Yeah, but it has a few differences:

it can trigger 32nd notes!
it has gate settings
it has some offset setting (though I am not seeing huge effect playing with that yet)
it has more flexible timing, allowing the whole pattern to be seen in one view (Catanya you have to scroll when it is 32 steps long).

I love Catanya but welcome the differences. Missing is the cool 'scale' velocity and preset system of Catanya. The number of presets i think are less, and the browser isn't categorized like Catanys, though I love all the funny names Smile Scooby doobie dooo!!!
braj - Wed May 09, 2012 7:47 am
Also the interface isn't as huge as Catanya, making it more laptop friendly.

Cool, thanks for the tip. I've seen this before and it works as good as it looks.

Kirnu is great, does a ton of stuff these plugins don't do, and is free too, but it is a more traditional arp. It is cool and I finally sent the dev a donation recently Smile a definite no brainer! I have as many arps I think now as synths and they all have their own unique feel. Even arps on many synths are all pretty unique and usually one of the first things I check out on a new synth.
