Well, what could a person possibly want?
EvilDragon - Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:51 pm
GR6, Kontakt 6, Reaktor 6, Absynth 6, perhaps Massive 2? Some new Reaktor-based synths, some more Kontakt libraries perhaps?
Mushy Mushy - Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:59 pm
Ableton Live 9 included
And the optional "Retro Pack" featuring Kore2.
osiris - Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:11 am
I speculate that I hope I can get an upgrade to 8 for cheap.
Krakatau - Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:20 am
me from 6 to 9 at the same price than 7 to 8 (...not such unlikely !)
whyterabbyt - Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:23 am
...first the speculation thread, to be followed (after the official NI announcement) by the pre-sales hype thread after the announcement, to be followed (after the actual release) by the complaints and bitching and someone-else-paid-less-than-me thread, all spearheaded by the same usual suspects...
round and round and round she goes...

EvilDragon - Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:47 am
Komplete was never downloadable.
osiris - Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:54 am
Don't forget you have to update/register after install....
loachm - Fri Jun 15, 2012 4:26 am
...Massive 2, Battery 4, FM9 and Reaktor 6 would be

. And I would love to have the loss of Kore to be compensated by implementing its technology into Kontakt, GR and Maschine - mainly the routing options (> extended parallel processing), VST loading and the comprehensive browser options...
...and I want a vintage analog from NI!!!
Krakatau - Fri Jun 15, 2012 5:06 am
je pleure de bonheur !!!!!!!
digitalboytn - Fri Jun 15, 2012 5:28 am
I think in Kanine that NI are going to be going for something different...
They are going to drop all of the synths and that silly Studio Drummer...
In place of everything they are going to supply two sticks and a book on "How to be Kompletely Happy with XXXX ALL"....
All users of Kanine will raise their level of consciousness to new levels and go on to teach others that happiness comes from within and not from owning a dog

Exactly what does Kontakt 5 lack that would warrant a Version 6?

electro wrote:

Anything NI deems as "worthy".
In my eyes Kontakt 5 felt a lot like Kontakt 4.5... wasn't that big of a jump as K4 was from K3.
sockofgold - Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:27 am
Not that it's relevant, but it's funny: I'm still on Komplete 5. I re-installed the whole thing the other day, and had a good laugh at what a mish-mash of outdated and discontinued software it is. It's like a software antique store:
Kontakt 3
Guitar Rig 3
Absynth 4
B4 II
Pro-53
Acoustik Piano
Electrik Piano
Reaktor, Battery, and FM8 are the only ones on the current version. Pretty funny. I would like to get a nice upgrade deal, but honestly, dealing with installing all of this crap, the random files it pukes up all over random spots in my HDD, the PITA that is Service Center, and that god-forsaken website of theirs, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for an upgrade, even to the newest version. Anyway, it seems like each new version of Komplete because more an more of nothing but a huge sample-collection...
That's just me, though--I have a long-standing vendetta with NI, and I would rather my money go to their competitors, e.g. IKMM and Urs.
zorniko - Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:36 am
I think that the current jobs they're offering are talking more than enough about their new preocupations.
dayjob - Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:32 am
Kore2 support.
Gonga - Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:38 pm
Kontakt 6 will simplify user-created libraries (real sampling). A new UI for the under-the-hood stuff. New Kontakt libraries: Evolve, "Section" (brass and sax sections), woodwinds, Clavinet, Studio Drummer expansions will include Latin percussion libraries, REX file capability, a new structure for the libraries that emphasizes compositional structure and styles (intros, choruses, fills etc. clearly labeled with the UI organized around drag and drop song structure sections), and a new intelligent improvisation mode.
Guitar Rig will be renamed something like Studio Rack, and the number of effects will be reduced while upgrading the audio quality and capabilities. New multitrack glitch component with midi learn, arpeggiator and sequencer. A horizontal mixer view will show all the levels (ins and outs) simultaneously and allow drag and drop reordering of components. A super metering bridge component will be added that will display freq curves, waveforms, spatial arrays, etc., and which can be dropped at any location in the chain.
Massive 2 will permit waveform import.
A new standalone additive synth will be introduced including features found in Razor, Skanner and Prism but adding waveform import and a visual spectral mode ala Iris.
The trend toward touchscreen interfaces will start to show (sliders will prevail).
Just kidding.
JPQ - Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:51 pm
I dream thing which is very unlikely happen orchestral sounds which allows play good sounding crescendos (currently have bad phasign problem). and new filter types for fm8 and synth which loads pro53 patches but have new features like new filters at least.
JavaJ - Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:41 pm
They will bring back all the discontinued synths and port them over to iOS. Calling it the "iKomplete LE forgotten" edition
hibidy - Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:34 pm

Kunts.

Would be nice if they'd get on with some mashcine updating (multicore especially, hosts not named "cubase or live" integration next)
billcarroll - Fri Jun 15, 2012 4:59 pm
Sure would be nice if version 9 had a better install setup. And the service center could be better as well. Just trying to install and update Komplete is an all day operation. Operation Install Komplete ........................................................
I would also love to see Battery collect sound files within the host project if so desired. Missing samples can be a real bummer.

reaktor 6 - vst import
it would be cool to be able to load vstis and fx as soundsources or fx in the modular environment, similar to vaz mod
forget vst export, thats not even important.

According to my log I got the 50% Komplete upgrade exactly a year ago so this is confounding, would expect them to have the similar deal out by now...

I'd love to have Reaktor FX in particular exportable as VST effect (*that still require reaktor to be installed, no need to export for non rreakto users

), that I could load directly and just automate as per other add ins.
It can be done within Reaktor, but all those extra steps... load reaktor fx, load fx ensemble, then is the automation properly linked etc etc
I think at this stage only Massive2 or Reaktor6 would push me into the upgrade from Komplete 7....
Or a high quality FX suite that can be used as VST add ins... (actually I don't really need this, but have thought NI should have done this about... 8-10 years ago...)

Actually there is a "1.2" update.......but didn't work here.
ScottIrvine - Sun Jun 17, 2012 12:59 am
No need to speculate, I have rock solid insider information:
NI are moving towards an even more modular setup, so this means for example, if you wanted to open FM8 you would have to do the following:
2. Open the brand new Kore 3*
3. Open guitar rig (this will now be called Komplete Rack**)
4. Open up kontakt 6 within Komplete Rack
5. Open up the FM 9 kontakt instrument (Basically a sampled based synth version of the now discontinued FM8)
Note: *Kore 3 will only be available as a reaktor ensemble.
**Because this method of creating instruments is cheaper, NI can spend more money on graphics designers and paying clever people to come up with product names where they can cleverly change the 'C' to a 'K' because lets admit it, this never gets old.

Is there a chance that some products from Komplete 8 Ultimate will move to Komplete 9 Standard? (Session Strings Pro...probably not.)
Perhaps The Giant will be part of Komplete, but I can't think of any other Native Instruments instruments that I'd like.
Oh, and I hope that Studio Drummer will have an update so that it will be less glitchy/CPU intensive and will also include an option for sloppy playing of MIDI from one's sequencer, and not only from the loop browser.

With their sale on, it looks like Razor might be included in K9.
hibidy - Tue Jun 19, 2012 9:33 pm
maybe, but it doesn't even work as I'd expect it.
Massive, FM8, razor, all on sale. Not sure when komplete will go on sale.
So, what are the really big things people would like to see ACTUALLY?
Surely, not more "stuff" right? How about hope for product updates?
_leras - Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:34 am
Well hopefully more synth stuff - that sale does seem to indicate coming upgrades and Massive2 is easily due.
Massive2
Reaktor6
FM9 could be good
I'd really like to see a Drum Synth from them. I think this has been speculated as part of Machine, but it might make more sense being standalone and just integrating very easily into Maschine.
Not too fussed about sample packs to be honest.
hibidy - Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:45 am
+1 for a drum synth!
EvilDragon - Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:55 am

EvilDragon wrote:

A bunch of them i would say, step sequencer included but i , for one, would be interested to see a realistic physical modelled drum/percussion synth...something like what tassman can do (or like chromaphone for an included tuned model, by example),
But builded up like drumaxx or drumspillage with polytimbrality (about 8 different models in parallel for instance) and a included step sequencer
Something that can now be handled by current or very near future CPU's, what would you think..?
_leras - Wed Jun 20, 2012 2:21 am
And don't forget Aerobic, also AB99 from the user library by Stephen V. So I guess an embarressment of drum synths!
Still... a VST would be more efficient, and could take the best from all of those.
But yeah, maybe not necssary...
vurt - Wed Jun 20, 2012 7:50 am
id like to see it all come in one reasonable sized box, rather than a box of boxes...
not so much for the environment but because if i get it delivered the postman would think i was taking the piss.

osiris - Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:31 am
I;m anxious for an update but I have quite a lot of fear that NI will pull another Reaktor with Kontakt and I won't be able to load old instruments. The big question is:
Will I be able to use old Reaktor ensembles?
Will I be able to use old Kontakt instruments?
I remember when Reaktor went frm 3 to 4 and wouldn't load old ensembles. It took a while to get that sorted out (if I recollect correctly)
ekwipt - Thu Jun 21, 2012 3:45 am
Updated Kontakt , Reaktor, FM8, Massive, Absynth
Guitar rig = Effects Rig
Traktor = Unlimited Tracks turns into Ableton session view with Remix decks bundled with Komplete
Maschine software version bundled
Battery to be merged with a new drum synth, gets pattern based sequencer
New Analog modelled synth
New digital synth
Everything slots into each other modular like
Traktor is the mixer
Maschine is the instrument holder/patcher etc
Kontakt
Effects Rig
Intruments listed above
They'll sell more hardware
Maschine
X1 & F1
New NI Keyboard
New Traktor Mixer kontroller 5 Channel
New Drum Machne Step sequencer and knobs galore
hibidy - Sat Jun 30, 2012 2:33 pm
I'm going to bump this. So, if some of these products are a bit hard to come by (crossgrades and such), then there should be change? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
BTW, there seems to be very little buzz around the net concerning updates, new products, so on. It is that time of year.......isn't it?
4lb Kitty - Sat Jun 30, 2012 2:54 pm
In the other thread NI hinted in a reply to another user that there might be something coming up. Whether it's a sale or new (or updated) product...I don't know.
JPQ - Sat Jun 30, 2012 2:56 pm
They really need simple analog softsynth and many other things when name must be realstic i mean when komplete
can be kompete.
hibidy - Sat Jun 30, 2012 3:22 pm
I'd like to see updates of the products that do more, take less thought and blow your mind more

And some kinda "koreish" interface (soft) where you can use multiple products with one routing and have them be templates.........again, easy to use. (I know, keep dreaming

)

I'm looking forward to upgrading my Komplete 7 to Komplete 9 this time next year. The half off sale is pretty much the only way I can afford to stay modern. Sooo thankful Native Instruments hold these sales!
Hopefully we'll get Battery 4 with a super topmodern, crisp, punchy sample set. It is long past due.
An Absynth and perhaps a Massive whole version update would be beneficial too.
If anything, I'd really like to see GUI updates that allow one to drag and increase/decrease the gui size.. and not just the window size but scale the controls too
I'm tempted to upgrade my Geist lite just for the sample set. I really enjoy the one that comes with the lite edition.. suspect it's more of the same with the full version.

But the upgrade fee to Geist is a few dollars more than the half off sale price to upgrade Komplete! And I really don't like how FXPansion discontinue products instead of building version 2 of the same hmmmmm...

Broke until after that.
Where is it, though, on the NI website? (Just in case).

Just looked at the chart and in fact it would mostly be Kontakt 5 I would be getting in K8 standard. GR5 might be semi-interesting but I'm not a big GR guy. I already have almost everything else.
Still would be nice to snatch it up at that price, but it would be a lot of wasted packaging for things like the pianos I have already, etc.

Good point, but I know 4lb Kitty and I knew I'd be taken care of.
