Have fun!
It's only 49$!!!

I think your plugin GUI's look very nice. Clearly you're putting in effort. Why then name your brand bullshit? Seems counterproductive as it may offend or simply limit public interest.
twoifbysea - Mon Jul 09, 2012 7:37 am
Agreed. If these were all freebies then maybe it wouldn't matter. But I'm not gonna part with any of my hard earned money over a plugin from a company that can't be bothered to even take it's name seriously. Good luck, with a name like that you'll need it.
audiovet - Mon Jul 09, 2012 8:07 am
You guys make ZERO sense. Who cares what the name is! How does it
sound to you? End of story.
Trakstar - Mon Jul 09, 2012 8:17 am
And having spoken with the developer and seen his eagerness to iron any flaws out of the plugins(including the free ones) even though it was not the FX but the users ancient computer I think this guy deserves more credit. Concerning the name, sure its different and to some it will offend and to others it makes them laugh. BUT, if the Plugins carry on becoming as good as what these early prototypes sound then the future of this developer looks quite promising indeed. These Bullshit plugins are something new and different, they have a unique sound to them, especially the distortions. So my point is, if the quality adds to the Bullshit Logo it will become synonymous with the sound and so when it becomes mentioned in conversation "Bullshit Audio plugins" there wont be any doubt about what people are talking about. Like PSP's logo "its the sound that counts" its quite an impressive marketing strategy because nobody has tried it before, and once youve heard the name its quite doubtful you will forget it!.

no dude, no sense to any reasonable person. Are you here for marketing? Are you a marketer??? YOU should only be concerned with sound. period. Anything else you say is ridiculous and BS (no pun intended) compared to the
reason why you are on kvr. Ok?
You have no reason or idea that justifies your concern with what the dev wants to name his company.

You are making less sense now. Have you never seen people discuss things like GUI's in plugin threads here at KVR? Will you go and reply to all those people that everything they say is ridiculous if it doesn't concern the sound?

I only mean that a brand name such as BS can work against you. You can't see that logic, fine.

Ahh yeaaaa! lol you are one of those guys who thinks because everyone is doing it, then its no problem. Why do you think presenting that fact to me fixes your inanity?

suggesting this is not the same as those who are in a sense boycotting it. Thats like self fulling what you claim could happen because of his "marketing". ZERO sense.

I care. That's why I took the time to post in this thread. I don't invest in companies who call themselves Bullshit. Am I supposed to assume that this unknown Dev who calls himself Bullshit Audio takes himself or his product seriously? Should I assume that bugs will be fixed and quality updates will be provided for his products? Bullshit + Synthmaker + Blog Website = fine for freeware but not for $29 per plug.
So go ahead and send Bullshit your money. You earned it, not me.

By your "clever" reasoning, why dont we start naming "legit" sounding/appearing companies who have not follow thru with promises, updates, customer service or who have better yet evaporated into thin air. Thats the point, dont assume anything either way.

It sounds pretty good. I really like that tape saturation he has to be honest its a new company let things get ironed out before people start talking there shit. To be honest they are good sounding and I have talked to the developer. the developer seems to be a pretty legit person.

I'll assume whatever I like sir. Just as I'll assume by your username and tone that you consider yourself "salty", "oldschool", "experienced" perhaps even above the "common" KVR user. Anyone with a lick of sense takes into account the entire package before making a purchase and the business name / model is part of that package. Like it or not.
That said, you can defend small upstarts all you like, but at the end of the day Bullshit will not be making my wallet any lighter. That was and is my only point.
Carry one.

nothing hysterical about what I've posted here hero. I care about dev's being sh*tcanned by idiots for ridiculous rationale. So long as I make my point about that, great. Ultimately if any said idiot doesn't want to buy any of the plugins then really who cares, their possible loss.

OMG!
So many guys are talking about my plugins! I'm proud of it..
Now let me tell you something!
People are talking about my company name. Why Bullshit Audio Tech? I can tell on my way.
I used lots of plugin free and commerical. But i didn't see "big big big very big"
difference.I know some guys will angry to me.Maybe you think that's bullshit like my name. But i saw some guys that compare them.I'm not rich man and i can't buy really good plugins. And i know there are many guys like me.I decided i can make some good plugin with low price.I'm not genius or good engineer but i can make some good things. So my company name is just reaction to some "bullshits".
And i have a good new!
I just done Helios 69 Type eq,i will release first beta!
Thank you..
(I NEED YOUR SUGGESTIONS ABOUT MY PLUGINS! IF YOU TELL ME HOW MY PLUGINS,I CAN IMPROVE THEM!)
Trakstar - Mon Jul 09, 2012 1:13 pm
For $29? I usually spend that on a takeaway and a drink. I waste that amount of money on the bus travel into town. I spoke and asked the developer about copy protection and requested a serial number. He answered that he would, and if he does I know for sure if the plugins are like this Im going to buy the lot, if only to expand my choices for choosing a character compressor. The thing that has got my attention is the distortion algorithm on the tape or tube emulation. It has a very distinct overdrive or saturation that Ive wanted the sound from but not heard in other vst fx. The closest I heard was one of the saturation algo's on voxformer 2.7 but this one really is unique. I find it hard to describe in words how it sounds, very fuzzy and electronic. Plus the Tube LA2A compressor is as good as any other Ive heard, but thats the problem I think. There are too many compressors out there now that all do the same thing without sounding that different from each other, even though they are exceptional products in their own rights. If the developer is listening, I would love to see that distortion implemented in a really powerful Vari Mu Compressor similar to the effect in bootsies thrillseeker LA and with the Vari mu design like the waves Puigtech 670 or IK 670.

Read what Ive just wrote, Id love to see something like that. Plus add a few improvements to the GUi's such as a bit of rust or grain to the panels. Just a little something to make them sparkle. Im not pulling you down, its just that they are a bit 2 dimensional and are screaming out for a few details which willgive them character.CHEERS.

+1 I think thats the 1 with distortion I keep going on about, but Ive just downloaded them all again and really going to give them a workout against all the other FX I have. Then Im going to decide for myself if they are as good as I am thinking they are. I want to give this Black golden Drive a good test to see how it measures up against a few others. The only thing i would like to see is a bit more detail on the GUI because they do look a bit flat, but its early days yet....

who cares about the name. I think it sounds more real and personal. I talk to my friends like that it sounds like something made by someone who is one of us not some big giant corporation. with that said I like the sound that that's all that matters. If it sounds good I use it, if it sounds like shit I dont and some expensive plugins sound like total shit.

i think so to. to be honest the black golden was not for me I have a bunch of vintage console plugins i dont need a new one but it did sound good for what it was. I like the basic look to it. some times fancy GUI just really takes focus away from the music

The dev clearly has a sense of humor. I personally think that's ok in business, but others may think it makes a company seem frivolous and like they can't be trusted long term.
For my own part, I'm more concerned with how these sound and
how they are coded if I am going to look into dropping coin on them.
I've found his free ones so far interesting and a good effort, but they haven't excited me as much as some of my other free or very cheap plug-ins.

All this conversation about the name of the company has inspired me to finally download BS Audio's plugins and give them a try. I will warn you that my anti-virus program, which has the least amount of false positives of all A/V programs I've tried, says that the pop-up ads on the sendspace site are potentially malicious.
I use NOD32 for antivirus and as long as it's on it'll stop the known bad sites from loading. You definitely need to find a legitimate web host some day BA otherwise potential buyers will be turned off before they even get to try your stuff.

Agreed. Sendspace is obnoxious as hell and I'm not surprised it's delivering malware.

I tried them last night and the one I was impressed with was the black golden distortion(on some material in particular than others especially acoustic drums and snares) and the 13 drive plugin. When I put it before a compressor I drove it very hard and it really gave the audio life and fattened it up so the compressor really kicked into action(on drums mostly). I would love to see some more top end harmonics or saturation to it and Im definitely buying. The tube summer plug has some proper grit and really adds some character to sounds as well. I Like the master degreen but its lacking a link feature and proper definition when trying to select gain amounts and threshold but I take its a work in progress. Waiting to see the helios EQ to compare against the emulation in harrison mixbus2. I tried the pigtec against the IK pulteq and it sounds different but not in a bad way. It works and adds more gain than it too although the overall tone is quite different. I think I like it, still making my mind up. If you want a tip, I would love to see some more of those distortions or saturations in some type of compressor that affects the audio dynamically like bootsies LA thrillseeker.(Just a thought). Not bad at all..

You call your Pultec plugin a passive tube EQ?
How can tubes be passive?

There is no tube on eq section. But output stage has tube. This is only beta.I will add option on/off output section.

Ah, OK, I see.
Then "tube EQ" is just a little misleading, even though Manley and several others use it as well.

My guess is that they're SynthEdit or SynthMaker...
According to the OP (in another thread) he codes them himself.

No. He codes, but inside Synthedit (or synthmaker).

Hey BA Tech,
I would like to try this secret weapon Distroyer? on my snares (for some tasteful dirt) but that freebies link is not working on any browser whether it be IE, Firefox, etc...
This message keeps coming up:
This is somewhat embarrassing, isn't it?
It seems we can't find what you're looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help.
Is there a problem in a website or is the freebies no longer going to be shared. Would love to try that on the snare. By the way, any chance that is Spectrasonics-inspired? If not, would love to know what inspired it. Thanks. Looking forward to checking out your stuff.
